Of course but who cares what he does when we’re 20 points out of the playoffs?
I know I’m being hard on him, but I was convinced we saw a better Reinhart in 2018.
He completely reverted back to being very mediocre this year so far - sbroads24

I'm sorry but Larsson is quite possibly the worst professional hockey player I have ever witnessed play the game. A combination of attitude, skill, production... I'd take an entire line of Adam Mair's and Matt Ellis's over 1 shift of this pile of crap. He's trash. - BeadyEyedDouche
This all depends of course, on how many rows up from the ice you are sitting. |

I know overall he’s a good hockey player. I’m tough on him on here
I just am so baffled a team/scout saw that skill set and thought it was worth the 2nd pick. |

He was very good at the World Juniors, he was a dominant junior player. But the NHL is a totally different game and his skills didn’t translate like scouts hoped. I was hoping we’d take Draisatil that year but I though reinahrt eould be better then what he’s giving us right now forsure |

Tough chance they took. Sam played great last season with Jack. Now he is responsible for his own points. Might take him a while . I think he will come around . |

I think it's safe to say most teams did.
http://www.mynhldraft.com...-draft-prospect-rankings/
It's easy to write off one guy as being crazy, but all of them had him at at least 4, 3 had him at 1, and only 1 had Draisaitl ahead of him. ISS had him at 1 and Central Scouting had him at 3.
It's kind of hard to hang that on Murray. |

I don't want to overthink that pick. I had no problem with it. There were 3 options and 2 have under-achieved.
His game hasn't really grown. The fact that he's turned into a net front guy is strange. It's certainly not what anyone predicted for him. Unfortunately, he hasn't committed to doing that every night.
I do wonder who they would have taken #1, if they had it. I don't trust that it was Sam, that's what you always say after the fact...even if you're GMTM.

It's a crap shoot with 18yr olds in the draft . We have a crap load of 1sts on the roster . Not many are performing like it . Some are still too young . |

A lot of scouts saw him worthy of the #2.
They were all wrong. If we didn't pick him at 2, someone else would have. And look at the Bennett pick. We weren't the only ones who whiffed. |

Thompson should really be sent down, he needs to play, the talent is there but he needs to work on his game. |

last couple games show just how thin we really still are... lost e-rod and McCabe and looked like a different team. although last nights game was just a general cluster f from the get go...I'll throw that up to a young team and hope we see the other team against the Sens... (we better or we will loose) |

Diabolical, I love it. I can't believe they left the scream in.
Side note: What's with the piss colored bottles half of them were carrying? |

I'm continuing to support:
They are not the problems
Why cant the 2nd overall pick outplay them?
Then he would get more playing time?
6-4-2
Great to win
Great to be in a playoff spot
I couldn't stand Larsson either. Guys playing pretty good.
Meeting the low expectations
Other are not meeting expectations
Mitts was a Calder favorite
Sam has 1 goal
Risto -10
Okposo- stupid penalties and 3 goals
Sheary- no eichel/ no production
Tage- short jersey/ short on talent / 1 point
Berglund- 1 goal
Phil- not using dahiln in ot
But its 22 and 28
Girgs on 20 point pace. - Boss34
I remember someone telling you they weren’t actually that bad
And if the Sabres played them in the right role, they could be decent 4th liners
Not to say “i told you so”
But u gave me A LOT of sh!t for that |

So was Cody Hodgson.... is it WHL players who never fully develop because they aren’t good old Ontario boys?
Was it Reinhardt playing with Domi /turrible competition that gave everyone a false impression?
Is it another example of Ott (Leino) is not a Centre and management desperately reaching?
Is it the buffaluck curse where sometimes you are overachieving-ly good and sometimes you are the nacho cart of life?
Tough to say.
