Any news on whether Kane is playing tonight? - EbonyRaptor
I'm pretty sure he got better when he watched the third period go south in a hurry. |

Really awesome, great on the nhl's part. Thanks for sharing. I love how the nhl handled the Humboldt situation also. Different circumstances, but still handled appropriately as well as respectfully.
It's sad to think that we can only come together as one when a horrific event happens, not all the time. |

At this point I wouldn’t even assume there’ll be a Scmaltz contract. - walleyeb1
Yeah...I was wondering if his play lately has caused some apprehension.

Q is supposed to be talking to reporters at 6:00 central per Lazerus, so it’ll be on Twitter shortly after that. |

There has been enough ufa talk, and I have to ask. Wasn't there an article or something that came out on Trouba wanting to play for an American team? I know that doesn't mean any guarentees, but he already went through arbitration, and that is the killer between players and teams. |

I don't see Trouba having a long term future with the Jets and it's a shame. I'm a Trouba fan but he's not the type of guy you sell the farm for. Winnipeg would want more from a Central division rival, likely something along the lines of Debrincat or Boqvist.
Trouba for Nylander makes a lot of sense. |

Oh, I meant wait til free agency. Sorry that wasn't clear. I know he would cost a lot through trade, especially as divisional rivals. I like the Nylander-Trouba swap. That would put the over the top as S.C. champs. So I don't want Tor getting him. Matthews will have mixed feelings haha.
Winnipeg has a lot of signings to make, and it is sad that Trouba won't stay there. |

Trouba will be an RFA, I doubt the Hawks offer sheet him. I think the Jets can afford to keep Trouba if he wants to stay. They can let Myers walk and that frees up $5.5 million. Not to mention they already have ~$7.2 million in cap space now. Granted, they have some big name RFAs coming due in the next year or two as well - Laine, Connor, Morrisey (and of course Trouba). At worst they might have to trade away the likes of Perrault or Lowry, or maybe not re-sign Copp. |

Oh, rfa, totally my bad.
Cap purges are going to be bad for them. I agree, the hawks won't offer sheet him. |

Maybe the Hawks can benefit from somebody else’s cap pain. Lowry would be a damn fine addition. Copp wouldn’t be bad either. |

So now the Hawks will lose 4-3 instead of 4-2. |

Trouba should ne the hawks number 1 target in the offseason and William karlason number 2. Mark Stone number 3 in that order IMO now hawks are not going to get all three it would be nice but unlikely. One observation is the hawks are set for the future at d.
Joki if keeps playing like he has could be take Keith's place murphy takes over for Seabrook Mitchell fills the hole of hammer boqvist hillman Gilbert dahlstrom round out the defense. The forward position especially at centet needs work. |

I'd love Trouba for cheap. William will have to prove last season wasn't a fluke, but not a bad option. Stone, yeah he'd look awesome with Toews. Agree, d is set for awhile. My hopeful target prediction is Panarin. He's my favorite, but that's a little obvious haha. |

Blackhawks in warmups:
DeBrincat-Toews-Kahun
Saad-Anisimov-Kane
Fortin-Johnson-Hayden
Kunitz-Kruger-Martinsen
Nick Schmaltz is on the ice, but appears to be a healthy scratch. He had a rough game last night.

Gustafsson-Seabrook

Holy crap! The dreaded white jersey for Schmaltz. I still like the third line, but wow. I'm actually surprised Rutta isn't getting playing time. |

Before the Hawks decide who to target or trade for they need to seriously think if this is the right coaching staff going forward. If it isn't they need to figure out who the best coach would be for the future and target players that will fit his system. |

Yeah not quite sure if Q is coaching like his job depends on it, or screwing with Stan. |

I believe trouba will be a ufa not a rfa but i could be wrong since he only signed a one year deal simlar to stone. Panarin i would love to come back but d and center is where the hawks needs are. |

Well I really hope it's the first one! Bowman got Kunitz and Manning for him. Haha. I think they are more on the same page this season, at least more amicable. |

I know he does. Lol
I am just saying that there are players on the current team that may not fit the mold of the new coach and those are the pieces that the Hawks could use in trades.
What you don't get in a trade you then sign a UFA to fill a much needed hole or holes. |
