It just shows how IGNORANT you are
- gazza53
That is not what I said. I've said how terrible that was. Obviously genius reading is fundamental. Having any type of political or religious conversations on a hockey blog is not acceptable. Like I said before we all come here to discuss Hawks or Hockey in general to get away from the nonsense that we call this world we live in. Get your facts straight before you reveal how IGNORANT you are. - BGKarras
My first post about this had no hockey content, but, given the bad week the country went through last week, I thought it appropriate.
My penultimate post about this DID have hockey content - it was a reference to an article in the Forward about the Pens (and Steelers) wearing patches on their sweaters/jerseys honoring those who died in Pittsburgh. I was accused then of posting political content that had no place on a hockey board - although there was definite hockey content and it was completely hockey content.
That said, I said some things that I probably shouldn't have - so have others - I'm ready to end this issue. |

I'm always going to be viewed as the new/youngest member here. That's fine, I am. I'm going to be looked over/ignored/treated differently, that's also fine. I'm putting my time in. I'm sure there are plenty of people here who don't like me, that's fine. I spend a lot of time here, more than I should.
With that being said, take this comment or leave it, up to you. I'm not here to disrespect anyone, their thoughts or their opinions, hockey-related or not. You have been off-topic and there are rules here, regardless of how passionate/aggrevated you are. After a horrific event, you just want what a bunch of silent people want, and you vocalize it in the wrong medium.
Plenty of people here like you and what you say about hockey topics, and will look the other way. I fall under that category. Just stay on topic, like you say you will. |

Even the best get toasted once in a while. Suter lost his edge/balance for a brief moment and that was enough to give McJesus the time to get past him. - TheTrob
You really think that? Suter has no chance keeping up with McDavid especially when he doesn't have the position or angle on him. Once Suter lost his gap he was done. Few in the NHL have that explosive a first step as McDavid and fewer can catch him when he's in top gear and Suter isn't one of those few. |

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I would guess that is a minority opinion. Like any player advancing in age he has slowed a little, but he is still a quality top pairing d-man.
The mantra of this board typically is how Charmin soft the Hawks D plays, but a guy who engages physically and "hacks and holds" is a bad thing? One mans "hacks and Hold" is anothers "put a body on someone and engage physically" - TheTrob
He has always been overrated in my opinion. I never thought he diserved #1 D-man money the way he did with his Minny contract. |

Breadman, as a relative newcomer you should be aware that while there are Rules, they are broken ALL the time. How many conversations devolve into discussions about Music, Movies, other sports, politics, etc. etc. etc. All of these are "off-topic" yet tolerated to a certain extent. |

Fair enough. IMO he was the reason the pairing with Weber was as good as it was. He was the better and more defensive responsible of the partnership. Weber had the big shot and the better offensive numbers (and was also the dirtier of the two). At the time of his contract signing in 2012 he was thought of as one of the top d-men in the league and finished 2nd in Norris voting. |

Good then drop the subject and stick to topics that are being discussed here. I'm sure you can at least provide something to the discussion without your subtle comments and innuendo that only cause havoc. |

I am well aware of exceptions to the rules, and playfully poking fun at one another. I see pics and gifs, as well as post off-topic stuff. I mean the political and religious stuff that is in the COC. Go back 2 blogs and try to find the conversation when this first happened, they've all been deleted.
Thank you for telling me though. |

I give you credit for stepping forward and offering the olive branch.
In hockey news, there is a chance Kane misses the game tonight with an illness.
Watch he misses the game and instead of getting the obvious shutout we hang a crooked number on the Canucks.....the posts the next day will say get rid of Kane he was the problem all along! |

"Off topic" stuff gets posted here all the time.
It's only when it's political in nature, and different from their own, do some people get a hair in their soup.

Are there lineups, with Kane being out? Is he a last minute decision? |

Many of you may know this already but for those who don't, Sharp is officially on the broadcast team for NBC Sports Chicago. Announced earlier in the week. |

Quick out indefinitely...torn meniscus - glennjpawlak22
Jonathan Quick is out indefinitely for the Los Angeles Kings following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.
The 32-year-old goalie missed a 4-3 win against the New York Rangers on Sunday because of a lower-body injury.
Quick is 0-3-1 with a 4.55 goals-against average and .845 save percentage in four games. He missed five games earlier this season because of a lower-body injury sustained during practice Oct. 6.
"Injuries do happen and not sure there's anything in particular you can point to in this situation," Kings coach John Stevens told LAKingsInsider.com on Tuesday.
"I think he's done a good job of really staying on top of everything, his preventative maintenance, his daily routines, so these things happen sometimes and you have to deal with them."
Jack Campbell likely will start most of the games with Quick out. He's 3-4-0 with a 2.72 GAA and .912 save percentage in seven games. The Kings recalled Peter Budaj from Ontario of the American Hockey League on Sunday.
The Kings play the Philadelphia Flyers at Staples Center on Thursday (10:30 p.m. ET; FS-W, NBCSP+, NHL.TV). |

Ouch:
The Los Angeles Kings’ season is off to a rough start, and it might not be looking up for some time. The team announced today that Jonathan Quick is out indefinitely following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. The team has recalled Peter Budaj, who will back up Jack Campbell in net for the Kings. |

It still stuns me that the Hawks, who have such top end talent are so abysmal on the PP. There just is no plan or common-sense in the make-up. It is always rumoured that although technically an Assistant Coach runs the PP that Q dictates. Whatever the truth is someone should be held accountable. |
