My bumhole friends are always late to poop and we went to a bunch of playoff games the first 2 years post-lost season, and we always missed the first or second goal, because they'd score within the first minute.

That was a big part of it. I have never seen someone more elated when they score a goal than Afinogenov. The guy basically jumped out of his skin with excitement every time he scored.

My favorite Sabres goal of all-time was his playoff OT winner from the point against the Rangers, when he did the penguin slide at center ice.

Okay but you're splitting hairs. Evander Kane would be one of our 5 best players this season, STILL. Yeah, he's an idiot, yeah he's one-dimensional, but he's a power-forward who will put in 20+ a year, he plays hard every shift, and he is very generous to the community he plays in.
