is Jesperi Kotkaniemi in Calder discussion after 12 games ?

No. But if he keeps racking up points we never know.

They'll most likely get rid of Alzner.

Oh and Ouellet has been a nice surprise all year.... Yesterday was his best game as a Habs.

Seriously Detroit? This guy wasn't good enough to make your horrible defensive squad?

- Scabeh

I literally asked a Wings fan friend that last night...they bought him out on a cheap deal. He responded with "dude..waiting for Yzerman"

Oh.

My bad.

Reilly has been stellar.

- Scabeh

He made a couple of mistakes yesterday. Fortunately, Juulsen was there to clean up the mess so it went under the radar a little.

It will be a one man race called Elias Petterson Who are the other top rookies since the beginning of the season? Is Chabot a rookie this year?

Well, Alzner looks worse for sure. His contract will just be a lot harder to move...
- BashCH

They will buy him out and that's it.

I don't see how you can get rid of him...maybe a floor reaching team. And even then, you will have to give one or 2 picks. Like someone previously said, they have the cap space, just let him rotten in the press box. Every time he plays, no matter who we play, he ends up being the worst player on the ice. He is so slow and so horrible with the puck, yikes.
- Habsody

Yup. I'm glad they're not playing him just because of his contract.

Doubtful just because older rookies are likely ahead of him...and Petterson if he stays healthy is a monster

Hmmm, what? Was Juulsen worst game of the year last night, directly responsible for 2 goals. He also only played about 16 minutes which is less than usual...

there should be a trophy for rookie of the year where only rookies that play in their draft year are eligible

Yeah would had Heiskanen and Svechnikov too. Maybe Dahlin...

Hopefully for Tkachuk he will stay healthy when he comes back.

Yeah i agree, it just that he turned the puck more than usual last night. He is physical and i hope with time (and maturity), he will become a little more meaner.

I agree. He was not good. He's allowed. Let's see how he responds.

Yup, being his first real pro season, you kind of expect he won't be lights out every night. Really like his play so far but like you said, he still needs maturity and a little more sandpaper to his game. When Weber comes back, I think he could be a great mentor for the kid.
