I think everyone wants to see lines of

Sobatka-Middlestat-Pommenville

Girgenson-Larson-Okposso

I have two guesses. The first would be that Rochester is playing really well as presently constructed, and the Sabres don't want to disrupt that situation by sending Thompson down and calling someone up (to possibly just sit in the press box).

The second would be that the staff might think there's specific issues with Thompson's game that they can work with him directly on while he remains with the big club.

I think the first guess is more likely than the second given GMJB's views on player development.

You sure you're in the right blog?

This was way to informative and actually makes sense

Mitts and Scandella should not be in the lineup. Scandy isn't even a 3rd pair D-man on most teams. Mitts has no confidence.

No idea why dahlin isnt playing more

Hutton really has played well and is a phil housley veteran

Keep the kids in Rochester, that's the formula. They are winning, we are not winning the cup this year

Special teams do matter. Who ever continues to argue, just won't admit they are wrong. (Probably ever)

He's playing 18:51 a night, but it's just all over the board, one night he'll get 22 and then the next he'll get 17. I'd like to see maybe 3 more shifts a game, and more consistent ice time.

#sarcasmpeoplecan'tspell

Edit: But it's not a bad idea, simplify the game a bit. Maybe have him be the netfront guy, get a couple easy goals.

That's fine, but for a guy who is an actual bust so far, and has been a healthy scratch this year on a team with Milan Lucic, Kyle Brodziak and Ryan Strome is ludicrous.

hey there's like 30 pages worth of 4th line content here, idk what's real anymore.

But yea i think he's gripping the stick too tight, so to speak. He looks good, but none of the underlying numbers are even remotely good right now (expected goals for, individual shot attempts etc.).

I think moving him to the wing helps with that.

it also doesn't help, it just gives scandella and bogosian more ice time. We can't have that. Ever.

No we can not.

Maybe it's because Scandella has been so bad, but Bogo looks like a normal NHLer so far.

Yeah, that's fair.

Something, maybe just changing the angle he sees the game from might help a bit. I think he's been fine overall, and on some nights the best forward, he hustles, gets the puck to the net, isn't afraid to get his nose dirty. The goals and points will come if he keeps it up. I do not agree at all that he needs to be sent down(I know you're not saying it). I haven't watched the last 2 closely, just on my phone in the background, so maybe he hasn't been very good this week, but in general when the team plays well, his line is always up there in attempts.

Mitts "gripping the stick tight" started in preseason

Actually a bit in prospects camp

Mekar might still be in his head

I think a good 10lbs of muscle would help mitts in every way including confidence

I think if anything he’s over confident. He’s trying everything shooting passing, puck carrying, it’s just a split second slow.

Just isn’t used to NHL speed yet

Went to SEMA, no tape on the Sabres or Bills in the wash, rinse, repeat section.

Show was great

Sean Tierney has a chart up on Twitter that basically says Jeff Skinner is elite.

You'd have to think he knows if he wants to stay or not at this point.

If you believe Tavares, he didn't know until he signed.

So Rochester is suffering from same the lame ass play as the sabres tonight... nice to know its spread evenly all though the entire organization.

Rochester down on the 4-6 Hersey bears 3-0.

Eh. I think it could be either side slow playing it.

Maybe Skinner just wants to make sure he can get along with Eichel/Housley etc.

I think he’d have a good idea by now but who knows
