I know it's a joke but...
who cares? If EP has zero fights after 10 years or 2, that poop won't matter in the long run. I'm more interested to see how he handles himself in high pressure/intensity NHL games.
Does anyone still care that Ben Hutton fought last year? (frank) no, we just want him to play well - Nucker101
I don't care if he fights . The game has changes since 2011 . Teams fight how many times now 7 times a year? |

I never expected Gretzky to fight but he did. I don't think I can predict in 5 years if his line mate gets gets blind sided how he will react. I will revisit this in 15 years - VANTEL

exactly, the league is softer than ever now
fighting might even be outlawed or severely punished in 15 years
(I hope not) |

I can't speak for the others, but I watch the games and then look at some stats once enough games have been played in the season.
I really don't understand why people just assume that you can only do or the other
And as fans we watch the puck with our eyes, we miss the little things players do away from the puck. - Nucker101
I'm the same, I watch the games and have "feelings" and I have to go figure out if my "feelings" are legit.
Like Sutter this season I felt like he wasn't at his best defensively. His oiSV% was showing he's a little behind his career avg and last years avg. Check his most regular line mates for the season, see if they are showing the same. His role really hasn't changed much over the past two seasons. |

Also, I can’t believe we are all cap managementy about $600k for Hutton but $6m for fourth liners isn’t a problem because of all the space they have - 1970vintage

of course he's going to slow down, but the chances he creates are amazing.
I doubt anyone here is expecting him to keep up this PPG pace. - Nucker101
His PPG isn't even highest in the league right now. Rantanen and Malkin are higher and have played more games. McDavid was highest at 1.32 last year I believe. With scoring going up every season. I wonder if someone keeps a 1.50 pace over an entire season. |

Speaking of getting your ass handed to you, Neem is handing your ass to you in the pool this week . I guess that is why you haven't talked pool this week |

True. But I saw the logic in the Bernier, Booth and Ballard trades.
Roy and Alberts not so much - Nucker101
Everything I predicted about the Booth trade was on point. He'd suck and be injured and Gillis would say he already made his top 6 acquisition when TDL came... and he did. Therefore, regardless of only giving up scraps... the trade still had negative affect on the top 6. The two players traded to Florida actually combined for more goals than Booth produced that season as well.

Horvat was the pick acquired in the Schneider trade. I give that a pass as well.

if you flip a coin 20 times and it ends up heads 15 times, do you expect the next 20 flips to go the same way?
For the most part statisticians agree that a player does not have a substantial effect on sv% in a repeatable way.
That doesn't mean players and their actions don't impact whether a goalie saves the puck but that oisv% of a player, especially forwards, is not an accurate way of reflecting that contribution.

Are you trying to say that there is no way possible to show if a player is good defensively except by the eye test? |
