I hope not. Edler is very good defensively but is a skating brain fart when it comes to scoring. I know he has led the team for years and years for points but he has always been put in that position to succeed.

Quinn Hughes will be here to lead the PP and OJ is being groomed in Utica to play on the PP also . So the question is do you want a 5-6 mil dollar shot blocker?

I'd still like to see Tryamkin back. It does appear he has attitude issues, but maybe he just needs some growing up (like JV). For next season, something like....

Tanev, Hughes
Tryamkin, OJ
Brisebois, Edler

pick one: Stecher, Hutton, Sautner, whomever they take in the draft. Woo possibly joining the following year

(would mean extending Eddie and losing MDZ)

That's a nice D core if everyone lives up to potential.

And a PO no show on top of that. The cost for a winger like him is about the timing & it’s not now. Our needs are a top 2D & the draft is where we need to find 1 or more of them. Trades are too costly.

8 points in 13 games seems like the exact same production. Keep digging though!

He would be nice to have in a 3-4 D man role.

I get all that but I think it is way overdue to get rid of the past. I think you start making decisions based on the past . You fall back into a comfort zone.

If Edler goes through a rough patch Green can't sit him down . I like the direction that they are heading with new things .

Edler is a big hitter & more physical than most realize. A home town year by year discount suits me fine. We cannot move too fast & expect the D & prospects we have to hit top stride right away.
- Nighthawk

Yes he is a good Dman . No argument but I still want to move on.

Tryamkin has been a healthy scratch 6 times this year and has been stripped of the captaincy. Be careful what you wish for . That is the KHL not NHL.

I'm making my decision based on the current setting. There are 3-4 D-man on this team I would rather see gone before him. Also, him playing 8-12 minutes a game versus 20 minutes can really improve his game.

I could live with Edler if they kept him off the PP otherwise I'm sick to death of him.

I don't think there is a wrong choice but my choice would be to something different.

I would like to try something different . This is just spit balling but maybe a trade a UFA and a couple of promotions

When you say something different. There are only 6 D positions. One trade, one signing, one promotion. You can literally have 3 different pairing looks.

I can survive moving Edler because they have Brisebois, Juolevi, Hughes on the left side coming around. Losing Tanev means Chatfield/Biega will take his spot. I say trade Edler and keep Tanev.

Edler won’t waive. Thought this had been covered 7000 times.

It’s not last season & a short hiatus at the TDL isn’t out of the question.
