We are on the up tick, no need to fire Ginger... Bring Q on as an assistant, maybe but then Ginger looks over his shoulder every day.

We have been a dumpster fire so long, firing a coach is exactly what we should not do, it would be so Buffalo....

This sounds really good.

Salary cap killed the Hawks, not the coach.

If the Sabres, God willing, ever get to the point where they have 3 championships, they also will be in cap hell soon after. It's just how the system works.

I think its the moves Bowman made rather than cap hell for paying good players. Panarin, Hjalmerson, Saad etc. etc.

Chicago also didn't "have to" overpay Kane and Toews to stay there. They could have traded 1 and set themselves up nicely.

Hindsight.

Would they have all 3 cups though? They won another one after the 2 mega deals.

They signed the deal the year they won their last. No, it wasn't in effect, but still most likely necessary to keep them around without much distraction.

In Buffalo's case, you already have Eichel at $10 million per year. If Dahlin is the stud we all hope he is (and I believe he is), he is going to be at or near the league's highest paid defensemen in five years max. They will have problems of their own. The idea is to make sure you're a cup contender by then.

They need to be a SC contender before 5 years...2 years and they should be knocking on the door...in 3 years for sure...else we have a failure to launch situation here.

I think Beady was right about the record this season. Ride the waves old people, trending upwards.

Patrick Kane: "When I first heard the news I was thinking: I wish I wasn’t sick that game in Vancouver. I wish I felt good on that road trip & could have played better & something like this doesn’t happen...I think Joel actually got a lot out of this group the last couple years."

Wow for a guy like Kane to say that, you know damn well he would be a great coach for Eichel
