No fans are better at sarcasm than Islander fans!
- Why are most Isles fans so bitter about Tavares leaving? You don’t hear Caps fans moaning about losing Trotz to the Isles. Hypocrisy?
- EugenesAxe

Yes it’s a similar situation. Great post.

If you’re referring to our last blogger it’s more like he has a history of attacking his readers. Facts are important when trying to make a point.

The more Isles coverage the better. And not for nothing but the guy that was covering the team basically never had anything good to say. It is one thing to be critical of a coaching decision, or GM decision but to criticize literally everything got tiresome. Plus like Mike Francesa after the fact would say I told you so until someone would point out that he hadn't.

The Isles are a good team. Their defensive structure (other than the Canadiens game) has been excellent. That was their weakest element last year. It shows coaching does matter and team structure is more important than individual play. Leddy was -42 last year. Boychu c wasn't good either when he was on the ice. They as a unit have played much better although I think Pelech and Pulock will be paired and Leddy and Boychuck will be reunited.

Their offense surprisingly just good enough. Barzal has been averaging close to 1ppg but has struggled in the goal scoring department as has Beauvillier. Beau will get there but will need to do so soon with Ho-Sang and Dal Colle playing well in the minors.

The goalies have been excellent.

Keep up the coverage.

Profound might not be the best word.

But yes, I have learned a great deal.

As an ol' fan from the 70's I see the team like the old Brooklyn Dodgers fans who lost their team to LA in the 50's but National League BB returned for the fans who could never root for the Yankees. The late 80's Isles downturn gave way to the departure of GM Torrey and Trottier but Arbour stayed and brought us the 93 team that almost made the finals, but the insult came when Healey wound up a Ranger and they trounced us in 94 on the way to their cup. The late 90's are more like a true expansion team with MM and a string of coaches that gave way to a Spano mess plus DP and eventually a Wang Kumar ownership that turned into a Wang holding the bag and giving us Snow and JT. The JT departure really marked the start of this era and some redemption for Wang Snow with this D, Greiss and the draft picks in BRI. Biggest criticism to young fans is that you shouldn't catch instant cup fever because of a few wins but rather enjoy the team's progress. If loss to Canadiens showed team a bit tired, then eventually that youth in BRI will be here. But still like Lou's move of not giving up on Ladd but adding three vet UFA forwards plus Sbisa to allow BRI to hold the youth for a while.

Well said, even for a Flyer Fan!

TIT - Trust In Trotz!

Have full confidence in the "Lou and Barry" Show. They are assessing the players they have and will move forward. changes will be made for those that don't fit.

There will be more pain before #5 is hoisted in the Coliseum before they move to Belmont! The team has another chance to close out the Old Barn Properly! Next year all the home games will be there and out of Brooklyn! YES YES YES!

I was hoping it was a joke but I’m fairly certain it’s not.
