Honestly I think that's a cop out. Wait and see what the Leafs get for Nylander. Everyone knows they are going to have to trade him. I bet is isn't nothing. - hereismike1
Correct That's because the Leafs have a GM that can be creative and wheel and deal, unlike Stuttering Stanley. |

Taylor - when was Panarin, under any definition, ever, even for a second, the best player on the Hawks? - Z3Hawk
When they had Hossa and Anisimov playing together in 2016-17 so they could go 'nuclear' by re-uniting Kane and Toews ...
It wasn't Panarin/Anisimov/Hossa that wasn't working - and Panarin was leading the team in scoring ... lasted for about 20 games.
So what do I win?

Yeah I asked Kouleas to see if he could at least try to get Colliton’s contract term. Which of course he dodged. |

No members of the core are going to ask to be moved “all of a sudden” or within the next five years. - Z3Hawk
not exactly what you are saying, but I would bet that at least one of the five will play for another team within the next five years. |

But he actually has added good talent, and it was Q that wasn't utilizing them correctly! - ToewsdNKanefusd
The GM and the HC need to be on the same page about personal decisions, that wasn't happening. I don't absolve Q for his role in that but I don't give Stan a pass either. |

Do I think this roster is good enough to compete for a Cup......no.
Do I think this roster can compete for a playoff spot.......yes. - I hope you're right, we'll see.... -
Some of what ails the Hawks, such as a horrid PP and PK, and stale system of play are correctable based on the players on the roster now. Improvements in just the PP and PK would give them a few more points that would place them in 3 or 4 spot in the division. - again, I hope you're right but I think it's going to take a lot more than that. A hot goalie at the right time does wonders in the playoffs.
Stan deserves plenty of the blame, as does Q. The worse part about Q's firing is the timing of it. The time had probably come 2 years ago to get a fresh voice in the room.
Why would a FA come to the Hawks? Money and/or opportunity. Same reason as always. What uncertainty with the future of the org? Whether Stan stays or Goes? McD? - TheTrob[b] - how the young head coach does, how the core responds, the overall direction of the club on the ice. I think the uncertainty about Q could have played a role in FA signing elsewhere (just my conjecture.) Most players don't give a crap. They want to #1 - play, #2 - be paid, #3 - have a chance to win. You can switch the order of those depending on the player. In the big picture, Rocky is still the face of what is considered a 1st class organization. None of the players who have left have bashed the org. most speak highly of their experience with the Hawks. Some may complain about how they were used(or not used), but NONE have thrown shade on the org. - I wasn't saying the organization is bad, just that there are major changes happening and a lot o uncertainty about how it plays out.
If you think McD holds a grudge against Crawford from an incident a few years ago, again, that's foolish. If he held grudges that deep then Kane would have been gone years ago. - yes, I do believe McD holds a grudge against Crawford but I also think he'd sign him if he thinks it is in the best interest of the organization. But I think Crawford is gone before this contract expires, again, just my conjecture.
Yes, if they allow buyouts again, then Seabrook will be gone. I don't even think he is a #3, maybe when compared to Manning, Davidson,Rutta but at this point In both salary considerations and/or potential I would put Murphy and Forsling ahead of him.
In terms of 2,19,88 why would they stay? Because in reality it isn't really their choice. They are under contract, so they can ask all they want, but the Hawks are under no obligation to trade them unless they get a return they deem acceptable. Their loyalty is the the Organization, not the coach or the gm, but the org. The one that drafted, developed, and pays them. - Why would the organization want to keep them? Branding and marketing, yes, absolutely. And, 19 & 88 are highly paid and could bring back a solid return that would speed up the rebuilding process.
Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but this roster lacks a few critical pieces to be a playoff team this season. If they're going to add those pieces, why not give those pieces to Q and see if he can do something with them? If he can't fire him then. Or come to terms with the idea that a rebuild is needed, not just a remodel.

How about the Marchand call the other day where he gets a 4 minute penalty and then a misconduct for a high-stick that didn't even touch Sissons.

He never looked to me like he would. Big guy, but looked pretty average against the other prospects when I've seen him. |

Guy has probably seen and stopped more high danger shots than anyone in the league since then. - Return of the Roar
Since 2015 kane and craw are 1a and 1b as the hawks best player. Craw gets MVP from 2013 - 2018. Not even close.
Panarin best on the hawks...ummm no way!

Neil Manning is not good. What Brandon Manning is to the Hawks is what Neil Manning was to the Hogs. McArdle wasn't effective either and likely more of a career ECHLer than a career AHLer.
No big loss with either going back to Indy. As you alluded to, even with injuries to several of them, the Hogs defense is pretty decent with Raddysh, Carlsson, Hillman, Gilbert, and Tuulola. Hopefully at least one of Forsling, Dahlstrom, Snuggerud, and/or Campbell is healthy again to be the 6th defender.
Hogs signed 2 forwards to PTOs: Auger and Fejes. Don't know anything about either.
Moynihan was also recalled from Indy. Look forward to seeing what he brings. Not going to be a top prospect but liked what he showed in prospect camp. |

Must be in the name Manning...
Auger and Fejes, eh? Wonder where they came from? Not specifically asking you.
Moynihan, yeah, I liked him from his time in camp also. A few others looked good, but people already have talked about them. |

Great stories about Q during the pregame. They even showed the sack grabbing ... probably because the questions they were polling covered up what Q was doing. Haha. Sack-o-matic. |
