When I saw him and Reinhart out there together I thought it was over for sure.

The only surprise was that Montreal didn’t win it. Miss the net on a 3 on 1 in ot and that’s what happens.

If he can keep that pace, and alter the mix to more than 1G out of 10 pts I'd be relatively happy.
Of course, adding more G's AND increasing the pace would be awesome.

Something like 25/35/60 would be solid.

it's ironic because he was drafted more as a set up man in jr.s


typically 1 goal for every 2 assists


before this season he was pretty much a 1:1 ratio in the nhl


maybe because the team stunk, maybe it was pp goals playing down low

anyhow it was fun seeing 3 lines working last night, for a change

I'd be fine keeping both, but having Risto as a #1 doesn't do it for me.
As a 3/4 with reduced minutes would be optimal for him and for the team.

My post above outlines for me what me expectations of Sam are now.
The question will become can they pay him what he wants and have him playing on the 3rd line.
That 25/35/60 production while solidifying a spot on line 2 would be great for the team.

But, I think most fans/posters just want to see him produce earlier and more consistently.

I agree, a fun game to watch.
I do wish Sam could find chemistry with Mitts on that 2nd line...that would be fun for the next several years. I'm not sure their games mesh though.

can you imagine what would happen if the sabres beat the leafs in the first round of the playoffs this spring

I agree but he's hardly the tirefire alot make him out to be.

Also ok with Risto. Just needs less ice time.
