Risto admitted in his post game interview that he made and AWFUL play that resulted in the 3 on 1

Sam was moving down low to get Risto someone to pass to but Risto kept going behind the net.

He (Risto) knows he got away with one

- Stripes77

I was like 90% sure Montreal was winning it on that rush. Accustomed to it

Don't really agree on Sam, he moved down after that was clearly turned over and got caught. His speed gets exposed in OT. He turned a 2 on 2 into a 3 on 1....again.

Yeah, and not only did the Montreal player miss, he missed in the worst way possible. Kudos to Risto tho, he had been out there a while, sprinted down on the back rush, and then sprinted back up on the rush and got his shot away. He is very physically fit. Most of the sprinting was because of his (frank) up, but still

Sam wont start playing until January. Imagine how good we will be then.

I think we should make play for sprong, he has a really good risk/reward ratio.

Imagine: Skinner - Eichel - Sprong

I'd give him 2 x 2.5
- Sabre_Tooth

I'd give skinner 1 million x 8 years too.

Let's be realistic

Pommer is playing great. If he keeps it up

2 x 3.75 =:7.5

The living legend takes a hometown discount to win a cup.

I honestly think Pominville signs for 2 years at 2-3 million at most.

pulled this up earlier, when people were asking about relief sabres goalies and I thought of the hasek/shields game

good read

I fail to understand why this is anywhere near one of the "worst moments" in Buffalo sports. Hasek won the Nolan/Hasek feud, and the team got better for it.

The play sums up Risto perfectly. Same stubborn, boneheaded turnover yet again....then the physical skills start showing, and luckily, his stick didn't break.

Why does everyone want to sign him to a multi-year deal?

He's 36, let's take it year-by-year

At his age, I'd rather start going year to year. A one year deal also has the benefit of allowing for performance bonuses.

Maybe he wants the stability to be able to stay here and keep his children in nice suburban Clarence public schools so they dont have to go to the rift raft of another city

for all we know, he retires after this season

although I think coming back "home" put a little more swag in his game

I'm sure he has a lovely family and all, but it's really not my concern. I don't think he has a lot left in the tank. If he does, bonuses are a win-win.

He's also been making 5.6m, it's not as if we somehow owe him.

This is "Home" for him and his family. I think he retires if not a Sabre

You think any other teams noticed pommer's resurgance?

Maybe he has other offers?

Otherwise, sure sign him year to year.

The legend continues to be part of the hottest line in hockey.

Let's get really tough on pommer. One a the few guys that puts in %100 effort every night.

That will prove a point.

How about offering erod a contract based on goals?

Like mogilny back in the day

I like him on that line, but if I were GM, I'd offer him a year, and if he'd rather make more money for more years elsewhere, let him walk and give Olofsson a shot on the right, or try to sign Stone or Simmonds. 1 year with a NMC and performance bonuses should satisfy both parties

You also realize he played with the gm, who is his friend.

Also , traded for pommer.

I'm saying what I think jbotts is going to do.

2 x 7-7.5.

That's a big paycut.
