Kane, Toews, Keith, Jokiharju, and Cat....everyone else SHOULD be actively shopped. It’s painful to watch this team. - EnzoD
Add Toews to that list if you are being realistic about a rebuild. |

With their track record do you really want current mgt involved in any trading whatsoever? |

So happy I gave up my season tix... to be financially committed to this dumpster fire would be insult to injury.
The in-season dismissal of Q shows no real strategic vision or execution from the front office. If a five-game losing streak was enough for them to pull the trigger - then they were already dissatisfied enough to have more appropriately made the decision during the off season. This would have been better optics in terms of respect shown to Q and it would have allowed an entire preseason for Colliton to assess and implement his changes for the team. I don’t suggest that things would be better in terms of where this team is in the standings, because the roster is just plain bad. However, the way McD and Stan handled this transition is another indication that neither should be in their respective positions with this team. - Chief4Feathers
i completely agree...you make this decision after the season or in March...this poor young coach doesn't stand a chance with this McD/Stanbow "playoff" roster...

Gee, I thought you said it was all Q's fault. - tompo1015
Oh and I still believe Q was a major problem .And don't think this coach has made any adjustments ,I think they are coming .
Never said Stan was above some blame ,now he must find some players that new coach can work with .Rather that is from within or outside the organization .
But if the team is going full rebuild Trading guy's like Keith Crow AA then I would want a guy like Mark Hunter in the organization .And if it took making him the GM well so be it .
Mark Hunter is the best GM prospect out there right now ,and if moves are being made locking this guy would be a great move . |

during this 0-6-1 beauty hawks have scored 12 goals and shutout 2x while allowing 30...a horrendous -18 over 7 games and without craw or ward bailing them out it might be approaching -30 |

"SOME BLAME"?? LOL. You've been a huge Q critic, constantly calling for his job, while totally ignoring the fact Bowman has assembled a terrible roster.
A coach plays the guys he's given. The blame for this dumpster fire is Bowman's fault.

What do ya want them to say ,this team stinks .. They should have made the move 2 years ago ,but how were they to know Q would show the lack of interest or distain for the FO and Stan that he has . |

Yes a coach is to play the players he given ,and Q did not .He was hell bent against any players Stan acquired.
And yes I have said Stan deserved some blame ,but not all of it not even close . |

Go back to 2016 when Stan traded for Weise and Flieschman. That year, Q complained about lack of depth in the bottom 6. Stan goes out and tries to get depth and Q did dyck with them. In fact, Q's mishandling of the roster and lines against the Blows was in my mind a critical error in that series. Not giving Stan a pass on other issues, but it was a combined effort between Q and Stan that has led this team to its current state. |

Who didnt Q play?
Q will have his choice of jobs. When Bowman is canned, I doubt he'll ever get another GM job. |

Hawks have made some terrible turnovers no doubt. Keith gave the puck away directly to a Flyer. Crawford needs to make this save but instead gets deeked out of his pants as the puck is shot into a wide open net. Why was Crawford so off to the side. Easy goal. The second goal Keith falls down and Kunitz gets muscled down the ice. However, Crawford should have controlled this play easily. Should have been easy to track the slow moving Flyer with Kunitz draped all over him. Instead Crawford moved very slowly and ended up leaving his net wide open around his leg...and so on.
After a generally good start Crawford has looked slow and stiff and at times indecisive to me. Even during his better period Crawford looked out of sorts on a break-away. It caused me to take notice. Other posters have posted similar observations.
If Crawford is not 100% this should be dealt with. Edzo and Konroyd are interesting analysts where Crawford is concerned. Crawford could give up 10 goals and they will concentrate on the saves made. Crawford obviously seems to be having trouble moving sideways or in and out. Problems with the actual movement - but also with his anticipation. Crawford is most comfortable with shots coming from distance, directly in front.
There are saves that somehow must be made in any game - the big saves. Crawford gets this - he admitted that he is simply not coming up with the big saves in his post-game interview. Crawford certainly did not view himself as player of the game - although Konroyd named him as such.
Colliton (C) needs to make things happen - there is no waiting. He has to at least figure out the easy calls and must do so immedietely before the season gets flushed. Rutta is awful. Gus is awful. Deal with this. Gus having the most mins against Carolina was LUNACY! Kunitz anywhere near a PP? LUNACY! C you were put in place to end the chaos not extend it. For heaven’s sake play Cat with Kane before Kane’s head spins off trying to play with Schmaltz.

Oh he played most in their off side or over their head in the line-up or benched them for no real reason and then would press box them .I don't care what happens to Q coach are hired to be fired fact .

Food for thought.....does any one else feel that firing Q in mid-season will make it easier for Bowman to get the veterans with no movement contracts to waive them for trade purposes? The vets allegiance to Q is gone. Who knows, if Q gets hired elsewhere, they may be willing to follow. The Hawks obviously need to start from scratch and with Q gone, what is the motivation to stay with a bad team? - Gary0301

you make this move to give your new a coach a chance to work with the players get his style and system established...not 15 games in in the middle of a terrible losing streak...they have not played or looked good in any of them...i know you are a huge Q basher...but this roster has been exposed for what it is...no coach can win with this slop...

Yes, you fire a coach who cant coach. That isn't/wasn't the case. The roster q was given is obviously terrible. THAT is Bowman's fault.

Marty St Louis was a Point per game player at age 38. Patrick Kane is a much more talented and bigger player. Trading Kane is crazy talk. |

oh boy now blame craw...yeah i blame craw from keeping these gmes from 6, 7 or 8 spots...this poop show defense gives up quality chances like candy at halloween.
keith throws a week backhand right up the slot and craw suppose to bail that crap out time after time...
how about that second period..he stopped what 7-8 high quality chances...
there is not a goalie in this league that could do any better than craw and put up with this ahl defense or worse

“I wouldn’t label it as a rebuilding,” McDonough said. “I would reference it more as a remodeling. You still have Hall of Fame players. My expectations are that this is a playoff team. And if you get in, anything can happen. So that is the phase that we are in right now. You never know whether to call it a rebuild or a remodel. We want to win. We want to re-win. We want our building filled and we want our fans to see an exciting brand of hockey. Sometimes, as painful as it is, you need a fresh start.”
just remember that quote when this team is eliminated from the playoffs in about 2 weeks burried in the 5, 6 or 7 spot...
the supposed "fresh start" still stinks
they have 19 games left with the preds, jets, stars and aves....good (frank)n luck |
