Q played the guys he was given. "Over their head"? LOL
Yes, you fire a coach who cant coach. That isn't/wasn't the case. The roster q was given is obviously terrible. THAT is Bowman's fault. - tompo1015
Q never won anything unless team was stacked .He yelling at Stan were are my 15 Olympic players what do you want me to do . Try coaching or running a practice or a different scheme ,throwing players from line to line and benching players is not the answer and it the only one Q had . He drove talent out at below fair price ,after miss using them and benching them .
I am hopeful the new guy will begin to implement new schemes and tweak the line - up a bit ,good to show confidence in some players . |

Marty St Louis was a Point per game player at age 38. Patrick Kane is a much more talented and bigger player. Trading Kane is crazy talk. - EnzoD
On one hand you want the Hawks to rebuild, on the other you want the team to keep Kane. You do realize a rebuild will take 2 to 4 years, before a rebuilt team with very few prospects, are competative and a other couple of years, assuming everything falls into place, before the Hawks are again a contender? Kane will be long retired before the Hawks are again contending. Kane will recoup the most of all current Hawks so wouldn't you see that Kane is more important to Chicago as a trade chip then as their future? |

I like Hartman ,really like him on a line with Schmaltz and Vinny . To bad some Stan players were having Success together so Q quickly broke the line up and sent Vinny t A and Hartman to the doghouse .
Stan made the best of it getting a 1st and prospect for Harman .Our 1st pick looks like a very promising defenseman ,so we can check out this trade in another year or two ,,, |

Kane is 30. Marty St louis was undrafted vs Kane #1 overall. Like I just said, St Louis was a PPG player at 38 the year before he retired. Hawks will have another 20 year drought if they trade Kabe for middling prospects and a mid-late 1st round pick. They are already “rebuilding” and trading Kane sets them back even further. He’s a generational talent that, unlike the rest of the “Core” isn’t sitting back collecting a paycheck. He busts his ass all summer training with the next wave of stars in Matthews and Hughes to get better.

Go back to 2016 when Stan traded for Weise and Flieschman. That year, Q complained about lack of depth in the bottom 6. Stan goes out and tries to get depth and Q did dyck with them. In fact, Q's mishandling of the roster and lines against the Blows was in my mind a critical error in that series. Not giving Stan a pass on other issues, but it was a combined effort between Q and Stan that has led this team to its current state. - z1990z
I place the blame 70-30 with Stan taking the hit on the 70%
I agree Q was stubborn not playing Weise & you can add Daley to that list among others
Stan however completely stuck it to Q by firing Kitchen & moving Hammer out

Kane is a very good star player, he is not a generational talent. A generational talent is a player who is heads and tails the best player of his generation. There are a handful of generational talents in the history of the NHL, hence the name Generational. Kane isn't the best player of his generation.
Kane's biggest value to the Hawks now is in a trade, if the Hawks are able to get back great value in return. |

... not to McD, it was bad form to endorse Bowman over Quennville in this mess, if a change was to be made, it had to have been both of those guys at the same time.
Bowman's moves have been as suspect as well as how deep Quennville kept his doghouse for certain guys.
No idea about the amount of ice time that Gustafsson is getting, he is a one way player... not Ray Bourque. And he isn't really that good of a one way player, but has some occasional flashy plays.
Why is Kane logging the same amount of ice time as Keith does?
Come to think of it - why is there a bottom pair of defensemen logging the same amount of ice time as Timonen was doing in 2015? That basically amounts to only running two pairs of D. Dumb idea, and doesn't make those 2 pairs more effective.
And down 3-0 pulling the goalie ..ok, was there no stoppages - because frankly you usually do not get 3 goals in that period. Basically that is a loser move ala some coaches use. I don't know that it ever has worked.

Classic VopatsRash.
Preds are the funniest team in the NHL. Literally had a banner made and ceremony done for participating in the league.
I also love how every year they bulk up with high caliber talent via trades, but can never get over the hump.

It's about 5 months away from my dad's friend's dad's death/ann. of it. I was 12 when the man died. His first mission as a young man was storming the beach of Normandy on THE day of days, and he liberated camps too. He woke up violently and wet most nights from terrors. Sadly, colorectal cancer took him. I was too young to know him and thank him, but he was a friend to me then and the man among men. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. He sounds like a hero. I can only thank you for his service. |

I think he's more right than wrong. I've watched Quenville from up close since 1999. Except he had stacked teams in STL and COL and didn't win poop. Stan might have a mostly horsepoop trade history but he had plenty of help. Both guys had the table set for them when they started, and neither is a hall of famer in my opinion. But if 3 cups happen while you're hanging around I guess that makes you a HOF'er. Scotty always had stacked teams. St Louis was the best team in the expansion in the 60's and so on. But when he was GM in Buffalo they didn't win poop either.
The difference between Scotty and Q is Scotty was an innovative coach and believe me he was not a players coach. There was no country club atmosphere with him. He was stern with and didn't take any poop from players, especially french players in Montreal. He took advantage of players strengths and tried to minimize their weaknesses. Q was a hall of fame line juggler. Beautiful.
Colliton is known for having an open mind and knowing the game. He is in a tough spot, but give him a chance. Wtf else can we do. |
