Been watching Bakersfield games this season and Jones is definitely the best Dman on the team, but Lagesson isn't far behind. Has some solid offensive tools and is producing (2G, 5A in 10 games) despite his billing as a defensive D.

Meanwhile, Bear looks like he's struggling.

You didn’t ask me but oh well .....he isn’t wrong tho Rattie has been back for two games.....perhaps wait more then that before commenting on lack of points (Rattie has 1 point in 2 games since coming back)

It's not exactly the same because the Oilers need more from Yamamoto and JP, but one of the best things the Flyers ever did was send Scott Laughton back to the AHL for the entire season in 2015-16.

There are no guarantees in life. But one thing I firmly believe is that if a young player isn't getting minutes and/or playing in the role in the NHL, you have got to send them down to the AHL so they can get monster minutes -- I understand that patience isn't what anyone wants to hear, but some guys just need more time

Rattie has impressed me thus far. Not a fancy player, but the (frank)er just works his ass off all the time. Likely he considers this his last chance to stick in the bigs.

Only saw now that the pizza boy was sent down. Why not trade him for a ~2nd or whatever he's worth right now - or does the Oils still have 'great plans' for him?
