Just because Skjei is a (slight) upgrade to TO’s blueline, doesn’t mean he’s in the same stratosphere as Nylander, talent-wise or value-wise
- AxlRose91

Value-wise is a maybe. He's already signed long term. So that has to have some value.

Trade Skjei, our 2nd rounder this year and Tampa Bays conditional pick for Nylander ONLY if we can sign Nylander to a contract for less than $6.75 mill/year.

Not making the deal if we have to pay $8+ mill/year in a contract.

Toronto has overplayed their hand. If they could have resolved this, they would have already. They will trade him somewhere, his Dad should be happy to see his kid in New York.

In Gorton we trust...

While discussing possible trades, Edmonton sent down winger Jesse Puljujarvi to the AHL this weekend. I would definitely explore his availability in a trade. He has many similarities to our own Pavel Buchnevich, and at only 20 years old, he definitely fits into our rebuild...

Toronto got cocky. Every single young athlete cares about the money and security. It’s the aging vet who has accomplished everything but a championship that is willing to take less. Player should always take the money. To us it’s a sport to them it’s a business and their liveleyhood

Lucic (2 mill retained), Nurse and Puljujarvi and a 2nd for Skjei and Namestnikov.

I have a very hard time believing the Rangers will be deviating from their course because of a bunch of shootout wins

they aren't trading any draft picks, not trading Lias Andersson or any of the other young players

not taking on Milan Lucic and being forced to protect him in because of his NMC in the Seattle expansion draft

they are going to stick to the process here

Besides all the other things I do believe if they could try to get Nylander they would. I don't think that is deviating from the course. Thats picking up a young player who is better than any young player we have right now.

I (frank)ing knew it! From the quick shot they showed of him on the bench in pain, and him not taking a shift in OT, I knew something was not good.
That sucks, I feel bad for Pavel. He was just starting to roll!

As I tweeted, call up Steven Fogarty. If really want to go crazy, move Filip Chytil to the line with Nam and Zib, replacing Buchnevich.

Would rather move Andersson up, and let Chytil go play with the Pack for a bit. Think Andersson has been better

That's a tough call. There is some opportunity there for Andersson and Chytil now, but do wonder whether Chytil could benefit from some time in Hartford. It's a tough call for me.
