Why?

1) You think he'll cool off and be less expensive
2) You think he'll cool off and stay that way

- RhinoFan

Why would you rush to sign a guy who is on a hot streak, which gives the advantage to his side?

Love how he is playing and I want him resigned, just not right now whild his price may just be at the high. I'm not hoping he sudenly goes cold, but I don't expect him to continue at his current 56 goal pace.

The risk he bolts is low since both sides agreed to wait until into the season.

Time is on our side...why rush it and give leverage to his side?

Risto, Reinhart, Okposo for Draisaitl, Lucic and Yamamoto

probably EDM only cause yamamoto on an ELC is probably better for them long term than having to re-up reinhart

Ok.

Have to say I don't buy it. To say that Risto or someone else isn't living up to expectations, or is not worth their cap hit, is fine. Okposo for example, probably doesn't make 6M worth of value up, but at a half point per game average...he beats the socks off a replacement player.

I think you take those guys out and replace them with scrubs, we're a losing team again. That's effectively what we had a lot of last year in guys like Josefson, Nolan, Pouliot and Antipin. We've upgraded and are better because of it, it's not all Skinner and Dahlin's additions.

Agree to disagree, just figured I'd ask before I put my foot in my mouth on rebuttal. Thanks 365!

- RhinoFan

I've been backreading and thinking this. Okposso isnt bad, he's just kinda in an ROR situation where he's not entirely worth his contract.

At this point he's more or less a 3rd line pp specialist. not terrible until you factor in the albatross contract.

His numbers at even strength are almost identical to Armia

This is exactly how I see you portray Berglund and Sobotka.

There is no scenario where you want either here next yeat, despite the team winning and both of them playing relatively well.

They are on pace for 23 goals combined, playing bottom 6 minutes. That’s the definition of good secondary scoring.

I get it, I’d like to replace them after next year personally. But acting like they are a problem is weird

I love when he tries to make you out as the crazy one.

You know he's never going to view the trade rationally, not sure why you keep trying.

I'm on the fence about Reino and Risto to be honest.
Risto needs to be a 3 not a 1 and have the proper TOI.
Sam can be a machine as we saw the 2nd half of last season, but something about his play makes me believe he will get smoked and disappears production wise in the playoffs ... which obviously I have no proof of, just my gut.

Okposo I'm rooting for, but he isn't doing it for me at his contract value.
He's ok for another year after this, but then he will be taking a roster spot that perhaps they should give to someone else.

No. Unfortunately, Nylanders father called him and told him to hold out.

There’s some MAJOR DIFFERENCES though

1) Sam and Risto were already here
We brought in MORE slower guys that don’t fit the style we wanna play
I just don’t see how that makes sense

2) I’ve been on them for a couple weeks
You’ve been bashing Sam & Risto for YEARS

And the scoring pace u talk about is still low
Especially (as you pointed out) when u look at Berglund’s 17goals in 57games from last year

Sobatka is 4th in icetime for forwards
And that Berglund is only playing 12-13min a night is an indication of his mediocre play

And 3 goals combined in the first 15games,
one of which was an empty netter

You can’t say we weren’t expecting more from these guys
Come on

What bugs me is that he rarely if ever posts during the actual games (which I don’t blame anyone for not doing) but then comes on after and reads people’s emotional reactions that happen during the moment, and acts like the calm, cool, collected one. And likes to throw around the “overreaction” label at everyone.

That’s what irks me the most besides the stubbornness. What I post during an actual game should be taken with a grain of salt

As of today, who do you expose to Seattle?
Berglund
Sobodka
Okposso (sorry bud, its a numbers thing)
Pommer
Girgensons
Elie
Larsson
Scandella
Beaulieu
May be Bogo?
....work out a "please dont take our goalies" deal?
May be its easier to construct a "who would we protect" list?

I'm confused.
Changes were made to the roster, the Sabres have climbed from 31st to what 19th?
Have the new players replaced the production from some notable players from last year and improved the locker room along the way?
-Skinner replaced the goals lost with EKaner9
-Sheary replaced Pouloit (whatever the F he provided)
-Berglund & Sobotka have replaced the goals by ROR
-The D is largely the same, with exception of add Dahlin...which is huge for sure

Can it be, that dumping problem attitude players such as EK9, ROR, Pouloit while experiencing a resurgence in commitment and play from Larssons, Girgenson, a healthy Bogo have contributed to the improved play overall?
I think so.

Who gives a crap about 1 guy replacing ROR and it taking 2 to do so.
Addition by subtraction.

- IonSabres

Now? They're tied for 11th, and are tied for the 6th most points(with 1 win they could jump all the way to 4th. Not likely, it would take 9 other teams to lose their next game, but it could happen).

They have modified NTCs, so they would have to be protected, unless they agreed to waive

$13.4m Coming off the books at the end of this, 2018-19 season
Pommer $5.6
Girgs. $1.6
Larry. $1.5
Blowboy $2.4
McCabe. $1.6
Elli. $0.7

Resign
Skinner to $8.0 = +$2.3. 7or8 years
McCabe to $2.4 = +$0.8. 3or4 years
Pommer to $3.0 = -$2.6. 1 year
Blowboy to $1.5 = -$0.9. 1 year

Totals $14.9m in signings and opens 2 Fspots on roster.
If the move on from Blowboy, then the resingnings are a push money wise, and opens a D spot.
Of course, those 2 or 3 spots need to be filled by kids on ELC's....so add another $2 - $3m

That then sets the team up next year for jettisoning $21.8m in contracts from
Bogo. $5.1
Scandy. $4.0
Sobotka $3.5
Nelson. $0.8
Sheary. $3.0
Reino. $3.6
Stats. $0.9
Tage. $0.9

To resign
Reino

Sheary
Tage
And fill in holes with kids on ELC's. Maybe make 1 acquisition

Agreed.
Offer a pick for them to take 1 of these 2.
Hopefully a compliance buyout for the other in new cba

I think all of this stuff is in JBott's plans.....expansion, a hopeful compliance buyout, etc. in another year or 2, this team will be rid of any contract murray signed.

Changes it all a bit.
Moulson, gone.
Erod, raise.
Skinners salary needs to be adjusted in.
Ullmark, raise.
24.525 out, about 18.5-19.5 in re-signings. Still the open roster spots.
