So what is his top priority? Money? If he wants to maximize his earnings potential he needs to be in the NHL. Winning a cup? Ditto. Playing against the best competition? I'm running out of ideas here...doing shampoo commercials?

Playing on his own terms. Walking away with a big middle finger raised if he doesn’t get what he feels is worth it? Precedent doesn’t show leafs will help with cup. Best competition maybe... but a garage league that practically invites career and life altering head shots? This guy already has a life of luxury set up ahead of him. Why bother?

St. Louis would make the most sense but it would definitely take some heavy maneuvering. Talking a deal like...

To TOR:
D Colton Parayko
D Joel Edmundson
F Robbi Fabbri
G Chad Johnson
C Oskar Sundqvist

To STL
F William Nylander
D Jake Gardiner (expiring contract/deal not
hinging on a pre-negotiated extension)
D Timothy Liljegren
G Garrett Sparks
2021 2nd/TOR
2019 4th/STL

I know it’s a steep price and the last team in the world I like is the Blues, but, RD Defenders who can score, lay the body, and go about his business the way Parayko does are not there every draft, and they’re the most valuable commodity in the leave today, which franchise center nipping at its heels.

What it does is leaves the Depth Charts looking something like..

TOR:
Marleau-Matthews-Marner
Hyman-Tavares-Kapanen
Fabbri-Kadri-C. Brown
Leivo-Lindholm-Sundqvist
x Johnsson x Gauthier

Rielly-Parayko
Edmundson-Zaitsev
Hainsey-Ozhiganov
x Dermott

Andersen
Johnson

for STL

Maroon-O’Reilly-Tarasenko
Schwartz-Schenn-W. Nylander
Steen-Bozak-Perron
Foley-Fabbri-Soshnikov
x Barbashev x Sanford

Gardiner-Pietrangelo
Boumeester-Liljegren
Dunn-Schmaltz
x Bortuzzo

Allen
Sparks

He can play for a khl or euro team. He doesn’t have to make zero.

Hoping he “rots” is the mentality of a fan of a consistent losing team. That does nothing to help team now (and after 50 years and with stars on elcs it should be won now). Best move is a trade, even if it’s for quarters on the dollar. Otherwise the only thing that’s being helped is the teams and fans egos.

(frank) that.

You don't win championships by giving away Grade A assets for nothing. That's the quickest way Dubas (or any other GM) will have his ass fired.

Nylander has 0 leverage to make any demands and everyone knows it. We can can either sign him later or trade for more in the off-season. In the mean time, the Leafs will have have over 15 million in cap space to use to get everything needed for a cup run.

Not a grade s asset no more. That’s the power he has left. He is now a b asset at best. Sorry

"... at best."

So weak. That is merely your hope and is completely delusional.

The majority of the league would love to have a 22 year old winger who can also play centre that has Nylander's star, maybe elite (in a few years), potential. Sorry.

This guys is an obvious troll.

Nylander can go play in the KHL for 3mill. Just some advice, avoid flying Aeroflot at all cost!!

Talk to you next summer, Willie boy.

Throwing Dubas a bone? Irrelevant and nonsensical. Any trade will almost solely depend on how badly the other team wants Nylander. End of story.

Hot garbage like this is what makes me want this situation to be done with ASAP. Also, Fabbri is so good that he's going to play on both teams?

Thus is why you don’t debate with leafs fans I guess. They get backed into a corner then gang up and cry troll.

Imagine overgeneralizing millions of people (Leafs fan base) and then crying troll as a result. Go pick yourself up a mirror and have a look.

Well, either you are a troll or just a complete idiot - you pick!
Saying that a talent like Nylander is now a B grade trade chip because he is holding out...as well as that he doesn't seem to care if he plays hockey because he lives a life of Luxury and can go play in the KHL (for half the money) - completely indicates that the poster is either a Troll or an Idiot!

Pretty close, all you need to do is replace Bogo with Risto, also, replace A. Nylander with S. Reinhart.

You made a fool of yourself when you called Nylander a grade B asset at best.

Your credibility is at an all time low for me.
