I hope Dubas tells Nylander's camp he has 2 weeks to work out a contract with another team.
The lack of $8 million dollar offers might make this douchebag rethink his demands.
Hey Wee Willy - go frank yourself. - Atomic Wedgie

If he's after 8 million and won't budge, or has asked for anything else on your list, I want the Leafs to make an example of him..........you don't want to play for fair value, then watch from sweden. - Barx
Agreed. I don’t want to trade him at all. I rather they bench him for a year as an example then giving into anything.
These young guys coming off elc can’t get what they want.
In saying that I still think he gets signed at pastarnak dollars over 7/8 years. Give it till December 1st but tell him they aren’t trading regardless. So he signs for a reasonable amount or sits until he does. |

Just because EDM and BUF screwed it all up for the rest of the NHL because they couldn't tell the difference between their leverage over a RFA versus a UFA does not mean that Dubas and the Leafs need to overpay Nylander, Matthews and Marner.
Explain to me why Tavares had to wait until his age 27 contract to get $11M? All of a sudden Marner is a $10M+ player at 22 because he's putting up points and plays for the Leafs? Get out of here with that poop.
Why is Pastrnak "underpaid" at $6.66M on a long-term deal with BOS? Because he didn't have the balls to bet on himself on a bridge deal and is now out-performing his number. Don't want that to happen to you Willy, Auston and Mitch? Realize that the NHL is not set-up for 22 year old's to hit home runs coming out of their ELC.
You can't rely on a poopty GM making long-term mistakes again... - Deeps27
Most intelligent statement on the entire subject I have heard all season. Well done sir |

Nylander is with the Leafs in California I thought I heard in some of their morning interviews.
If so, I take it that is good news. |

Yeah, the target for both parties should be an AAV of 7 M$, nothing upper or lower than that. Dubas is sticking too much with his 6 or 6,25 M$ AAV, he needs to put up some water in his wine and upping just a little bit the contract offers to Nylander. The Swede should come back to earth and lowering his salary demands closer to 7 M$. Its the only way an agreement could be reached between Nylander and Dubas before Dec. 1st. If not, then start looking for a good trade package that'll bring a young top-4 D or a young winger with a top prospect and a draft pick. I don't believe for a second the option of sitting him down for the rest of the season will happen, because both parties have too much to lose in terms of money and Stanley Cup aspirations to let that happening. |

I doubt it too but those are the names they need to be looking at. Nylander is the golden ticket to get a #1 RHD. Anything less than that is a waste of an asset. - Unholy_Goalie
And if that asset isn't available then we shouldn't force it. Or you end up making a deal you regret. |

If they get a legit #1 RHD, it'd be hard to regret that deal.
The regret would be trading him for Pesce or some other bullpoop 2nd pairing D. |

Ahh ok, can sometimes be difficult to hear the questions in those interviews they post cause for some reason they suck at uploading them with loud audio.
I guess they transitioned from Nylander questions to Matthews quick and I never realized. |

Who (frank)in cares about what John Toews thinks about the Willie Ny situation.
Leaf fans don't even care about it, at this point. Now it is just frustrating bull poop.
Leave the punk in Sweden. Offer is 4 mill per or you sit a year. |

Gretzky referenced to JT as Jonathan Tavares.. that's why.
And I actually don't agree with you - I explained why I understand Nylander's not signing yet (he basically wants to decide to which team he gets traded to; seems quite obvious he is gone). |

Oh No. Willie is not driving this bus. Willie is a passenger. His option is to sign or wait to see where he is playing this year. I suspect, pond hockey in Sweden. |

I don't agree.
the only leverage Willie has, is not signing at this point.
only reason this makes sense is NOT money, but it is his suspicion that he will be traded away after this season (since Leafs can't fit Marner, Matthews, JT AND Nylander under cap - obvious that Willie is the odd man out).
So if that's the case, I could definitely understand his position - I wouldn't want to be traded to a bottom feeder team or a city he has not interest in living in.. (Ottawa, ARizona, Detroit, NJ or whichever teams he has no interest in). |

I hardly doubt leaf fans don't care about it.
What is frustrating bull poop is "fans" making comments like sign for 4mil or (frank) off and all the bull poop trade offers. Haven't seen one offer that is even remotely close. |

you're the worst.
only thing you do is irrationaly defend anything that has to do with Leafs / Leafs management.
In addition, plenty of suggestions were made for 'even' deals. |
