Would welcome Shattenkirk on the Leafs. Would not welcome any deal to the Rags that involved Nylander. There isn't a single piece in their prospect pool that could even be used to leverage a decent deal for Willie. They'd have to add 1st rounders to make it palatable.

I wouldn't. He's been a healthy scratch.

I blame Edmonton for all this poop with RFA's. They were the ones who started giving their guys 6 million dollar long term contracts right out of ELCs. Eberle, Hall, Nuge.
- Aaron_85

It's not those guys, IMO, it's the Draisaitl deal that killed the RFA market

Rangers GM did the right thing. I can't blame him on this one.
- Aaron_85

I would only take Shattenkirk, if the deal included Kravtsov and K'Andre Miller

Is that who started all this poop? It really sucks. We haven't even won anything (literally, not even 1 round) and we cant even keep all our players? if you win a cup, sure, who cares. but we might be capped out of our window to even win anything!

And Gary just got into the hall!!!

I HATE THE NEW NHL

See my problem with that too is one deal shouldn't change an entire market. If you let that happen then you're a poop GM and clearly the agents have all the power.

I don't know those guys but I'll take your word they'd be worth it.

I think Carolina or Anaheim are the likely spots for a trade. Philly could be a dark horse because they have D-men and nobody is talking about them.

I don't know if it were those deals specifically but they certainly didn't help anything.

I agree with you. It sucks teams like Toronto who drafted and developed are punished for not winning in a two year window.

It's sad to see the likes of Chicago at the bottom of the west for no reason than cap issues.

Would you trade Nylander to Colorado for Ottawa 1st right now?

I wouldn't hang up the phone

Edit: I think Dubas would be considered "losing" on that deal because the team isn't helped for a "cup run" this year. I don't know if they are really championship material this year though.

The system is broken when it punishes people for drafting and developing there own players too well. They need to move away from a hard cap... some kind of luxury tax or something...

Straight up? Not a chance. Too many uncertainties of where it will land.

Any Nylander trade needs to be for players who are roster ready and can have an immediate impact IMO.

The problem with that is it still allows the haves and have nots to exist. Which is what they want to do away with.

Something like a franchise tag would be good maybe? Or like 50% of a players salary doesn't count against your cap?

I would expect most to say yes, because the Lure of a 1st and what it could be is so tempting to people. But the Odds that they end up with a player just as good has to be less then 50% i would think at this point.

I would love to just be able to enjoy all that time with the Sens draft pick praying they lose every game.

Do we care about the have not's? Wouldn't our league be better with a few less basement teams?

I am just sick of this. It also sucks for teams like Chicago. There needs to be some way for teams to keep some of there players...

The trolling of Sens fans would be great. At the deadline trade them their first and our first for Chabot?

Can you imagine? If we got the pick and it turned out to be a star player, that would be an epic troll job for a good 15 years of trolling!!!
