Weber at 50% is still twice the player Alzner or Benn are.

Can't wait.

Well, since it's a knee injury, I'd rather give him time to get a little speed back. It's already never been his strong suite, don't want people to complain he's too slow out there.

Ouellet and Juulsen most likely sitting again.

(frank) you Claude.

Wouldn't want people to miss the Karl Alzner show.

Really? Wtf... A few hiccups here and there, but the effort level is there for both these guys imo

It would be quite hilarious if they're actually trying to "showcase" the guy

Wouldn't surprise me...

In fact I don't see another reason to keep him there. He's not very good.

Ouellet especially, has been very steady since day one.

I get playing Benn, he's done well. I even get giving games off to Juulsen or Mete when their play starts to drop.

But if it's for Alzner to play, all logic goes out the (frank)ing window.

I am a full believer that "showcasing" doesn't exist.

That's the thing, when he's playing he's basically losing the little value he has left, might as well sit his ass

And I get the feeling Weber's presence will help with Price's confidence issues, having a guy like that in front of him can only be reassuring

No more love for Weber, unsuspecting teams won't even see him coming

I wouldn't bet on it.

Because NHL teams are not complete idiots like James Tanner.

Ya I know...

But I'd still be surprised if someone mentioned Weber's name in the comments section

Well he's coming off a major injury/surgery and has yet to play one game.

It would be a pretty bold statement to say he'll be a top 10 defenseman this year.

NEXT YEAR THOUGH!

Oh for sure. But he might still surprise a few people that are expecting a very slow start when he comes back

I'd be one of them. I expect him to take some time to get up to game play.

Guess it depends on your definition of a "slow start". I think after 5 or 6 games we should be getting a very satisfying level of quality in his play

I'll be interested to see how he adapts to the rest of the teams speed

This is most probably the biggest concern, as the team got a lot quicker since his injury

No one can get back to game shape right away but for picking up rebounds and clearing the front of the net he should be able to do that quite soon. Timing of hits and speed to compliment the new system will however be longer to get. Hopefully just his presence lowers the number of odd time rush as well

He's not on a line with Paul Byron and Max Domi.

If Benn is playing 20 minutes a night, I'm not worried about Weber.
