Was someone saying Lindblom is questionable on defense? If so, other than a rookie learning curve, I don’t think so.

No, I believe that was directed at JvR.

I didn’t really get a long look at JVR, due to the injury. I am hoping his game rounded out a bit.

Creating offense on their own and being an "assist machine", please explain the difference.

As for being speedsters and their defensive abilities, I agree 100%, but you do realize the current line has been Weise-Weal-Simmonds? Also playing well recently, which neither Weise or Weal would be the opposite of JvR.

I know what you are saying, but on the other hand this isn't an NHL video game where you have a mix of types and get a chemistry boost. Suggesting Lindblom should be replaced by JvR is like putting Giroux back at center, it's changing just for the sake of changing...that's it.

Creating offense on your own is being able to produce no matter who you play with. You typically can infer where the play is going and move to intercept passes or move to scoring areas. You can also score in just about any position.

An assist machine is someone that looks pass first, and generally sets up more plays.

Unless something major happened during the off-season, his poor defense that was in Toronto is still there.

See told ya. Predictable to a tee.

Raise ya hands to the roof, called it again! Comprehension lacks in you.

They are both strong on the boards, can pick up dirty goals in front, both have average at best skating abilities.

They are both more North-South players, if that makes sense.

Out of curiosity, how do you all see Coots? Player-type based on last season and this year in the 1C role.

They are, as is Lindblom. Again my point was Lindblom's play style is closer to Simmonds than JvR is to Simmonds...not Lindblom is Simmonds.

Too many arguments or replies occur because some people can not read words.

IMO if Lindblom and Patrick are still playing well together and the 3rd line with Weise and Simmonds are playing the same then you have to put JvR on the 4th until he gets his legs back. I don't care how much he is getting paid, he is getting 7M to help the team win.

I mean who is the most expensive defenseman the Flyers have? I don't hear anyone yelling swap Provovov with AMac.

In generic terms, the same, a two-way center. Are you looking at a more specific evaluation?

Wow, I guess it’s the little things in life. Of course my question should be predictable because you once again presented a stupid comment.

So how is this an example of Lindblom being more like Simmonds and less like JvR?

I don’t disagree with your thought process, but it depends on how JVR is looking in practices. Even with Weise playing well, if JVR is mostly back to healthy, he is an upgrade.

Two way Center, good instincts, slightly above average shot, gives you it all every night. Realistically i view him as a 23-28 goal 30 assist guy.

Flyers should just put Neuvirth on LTIR already! Could use that cap space come deadline if we’re contenders

Remember who you are talking to...

You could say the sky isn't always blue and he will respond with "you said the sky is never blue". Just saying.

And this...

I guess that would make more sense, but not completely.

"Lindblom's play style closer resembles Simmonds than JvR."

I didn't say Linblom is Simmonds or exactly like Simmonds, I said Lindblom plays MORE like Simmonds than JvR. Pretty self explanatory there.

Never understood why JvR and Simmonds are thought to be the same player. They both have net presence, but that is basically where the comparison ends. Even how they score in close is different, Simmonds is more smash where JvR has better hands and uses finesse. JvR is a better skater and doesn't really play as physical.

Lindblom's play style closer resembles Simmonds than JvR.

Can you rephrase does wording to sound less dumb. Instead his new wording is even dumber.

So basically what he’s saying, the three players have the same role but different styles...
