When you say he, do you mean Barzal? Whew that was a good one Provy laid on him. - Glak18
Yeah and, to everyone's shock and surprise, it's possible to lay a big highlight reel hit that is 1000% clean.
I could also do with the elimination of everyone (Isles players, in this case) feeling the need to chase the hitter around the ice every time there's a big, clean hit laid. It's one of the stupidest things in hockey.

Torres' hit on Hossa was first a 25 game suspension, then reduced to 21.
One could maaaaybe argue that Torres' hit was worse given the travel time/pre-meditation/Hossa not on the puck, but seem to me to be roughly equivalent in intent and severity.
14 games is a joke. Does not send a sufficient deterrence message.
The NHL is not ready to commit to what it takes to apply proper discipline for these offenses.
For the record, I think the instigator rule should be abolished as well. Even if the team I root for has absolutely no one who can act as a deterrent, let alone an enforcer.
Only a matter of time before Wilson ends someone's career.
Wilson also said he can't believe he has a rep as a dirty player. Ummmm, i guess your locker room and home are an echo chamber. Ppl close to you won't say it, but clearly they keep you in a protective bubble to avoid ALL outside perceptions of him.
Guy's a clown, can't wait until Johnston goes after him again when my isles play the caps. He'll prob run away again, like most cowards do.

He’s a piece of crap. I’m all for hitting in the nhl but it’s not a coincidence this guy is consistently in this same situation.
With the time you spent on this post, you could have posted one of your garbage hot takes in another thread. You need to learn to prioritize. - eichiefs9
Come on he called JT resigning with us before anyone else did.
League tries to set new standard for repeat offenders and had part of it clawed back.
The new standard is 14 games for repeated head shots. Fine, that's the new standard, only up from there.
Moore only needed to drop the gloves that game or in the infamous game and the matter would have been closed.
He elected to take no accountability for nailing a vulnerable Naslund and unfortunately was severely injured by Bert's suckered punch. Did Bert want revenge? Absolutely he did. Did he want what ultimately happened to occur, of course not.
Malkin too crossed the line with he head shot, Oshie was not injured and Malkin has no history... yet. Thus no suspension. You can bet if it happens again that the Oshie will be taken in account.
Players need to keep their heads up, opponents need to take some responsibility to try avoid head shots and if they do occur, you best answer the bell when called upon.
Too many times teammates do poop all after a illegal check or even a legal unnecessarily hard check.
Defend your teammates and less bullpoop will happen.
The players can do and have done a better job at policing the game then the league does.
It's the NHLPA showing they got the players back, they don't care what he did it's just business for the client. It's no different than someone robbing a house, getting stuck in the garage with no water and the lawyer trying to make the criminal look like a victim for a reduced sentence. Pure and simple. - Glak18
