I suspect the league has advised him how many games his next suspension will be. We''ll see in about 6 games. Never going to change his style. Mark my words. Just hope it's not a Leafer.

I just hope it doesn't happen at all. Seriously, there's no excusing this many dangerous hits.

That will teach him. How can an independent arbitrator over rule the Commissioner? Pathetic.

This RIGHT HERE is the mindset that allows head hunters to get away with their actions, and continues to get innocent players injured.

A new precedent must be set pure and simple, especially for repeat offenders that are blatantly going out there and attempting to injure opponents. If you’re putting that much force into a head shot don’t give me the “he wasn’t trying to hurt/injure him, it was an accident” excuse. He knows exactly what he’s doing and he needs to be the poster child for change in the sport. This nonsense needs HARSH punishment if it’s ever going to stop. If not and the league sticks with these 5-10 game suspensions nobody is ever going to care enough to change their ways. 40 games or a half season however is a step in the right direction that will actually force these dirt bags like Wilson to stop.

so then make it black and white...establish clearly what is an illegal hit and then enforce a strict guideline that illegal hits are 40 games....but letting malkin off with nothing and giving wilson 20 is completely inconsistent and therefore the players still have no idea what is and what isn't punishable and what the sentence with be regardless of the severity.
You don't get 2 minutes and 16 seconds for a really bad trip, and 1 minute and 3 seconds for a not-so-bad trip....you trip someone, its two minutes. period.

The Malkin, I'd really say Oshie, hit and the Wilson hit are two totally different things. Oshie was coming at Malkin and made contact between Malkin's elbow and shoulder. It's human nature to brace for a collision, and even then he barely raised up for it. If you're going in for a hit and take the worst of it and it's not like a stick or fist in the face that's on you. Wilson went out of his way to hit Sundqvist, and all the others for that matter.

I feel dumber having read this article, and all the so called people who watch hockey who label Wilson a 4th line goon etc and needs to be kicked outta the league are the dumbest people who think they know the game and they know jack poop. I mean listen to former players who actually played the game and they themselves tell you Wilson is a Unicorn that every team wants, fast, physical, intimidating Power Forward with Skill. I mean look at his return tonight sparking that caps, a net drive scoring a goal, another net drive creating a passing lane for OV to set up Orlov, a fight, pk work, going 100mph for 60minutes. But all the morons see or all they want to see is "Wilson hit a guy get him outta the nhl" how bout you clowns get a brain and actually watch the player and his impact over 82 games and playoffs and not just a hit here or there. Otherwise Malkin,Marchand I can name a bunch of dirtbags worse then Tom.. we want to play this game

Ok I see what you’re saying. So if he plays good most of the time that excuses him from being a dirty player and injuring other players here or there. That’s a great angle.

Malkin hit Oshie, make no mistake about it.
And if its 'human nature to brace for a collision', Sundqvist didn't get that memo.
