I'm getting to the point where the Oilers have killed my love for hockey

Fast getting there for me. If they don't shape up this year, I'll probably just say (frank) them and follow the Isles.

I'm more of an Anders Lee guy, but Barzal is okay.

I can’t blame any Oiler fan for saying this especially for those of us that have been around for this whole disaster known as a rebuild

I hear you tho....I was rather young when they won their first cup....I don’t remember all the cup wins but I do for a couple....at least I can somewhat remember the days of greatness

More or less the same. 20G/50P winger with flashes of brilliance and periods of ineptitude.

That team has been super lucky.....Mario and Jagr and Crosby and Malkin....I can’t think of another team that has had that

That they do. Loads of excellent young players/prospects. Barzal, Beauvillier, Bellows, Aho, Toews, Dobson, Wahlstrom, Sorokin, Wilde.

Hell even Ho Sang and Dal Colle seem to be figuring out there poop in Bridgeport.

Hopefully for the sake of his next contract he makes an appearance during the playoffs (yes I said it I think they make it this year)

They might squeeze in as a wildcard. Could really use some defensive help and another top 6 C.

After the Tavares mess it would be cool to see them in

Yamamoto and Russell for Nyquist and a conditional 2nd (based on resigning)

Hells no on Nyquist

Nurse for Pearson, Brodzinski and a 2020 2nd

Not sure I'd be into this one... I think you have to keep Nurse and find him someone to compliment his skill set.

Lucic (2.5mil retained) and our 2020 1st to NYR for a 2019 4th

Retain money and give up a lottery pick ?

Puljujarvi and Kassian for Faulk (I'd prefer Pesce, but unlikely)

I'd be open to something like but it would bite us in the ass hard.

Caggiula for Hagelin

Sure why not.

2019 3rd for Gunnarsson

Again sure why not.

- Reveen.

Why no to Nyquist?

I'm trying to capitalize on the perceived value and potential of a guy who hasn't shown enough away from Larsson. While I'd rather have Toffoli, I can appreciate Pearson enough to get him along with a depth forward that I believe in and a 2nd that'll help offset the next trade.

Literally no one will take on his full cap hit so we have to retain, and to make it happen we might need to dangle a potentially high-end asset like a 1st. This is a forward that's even overpaid at 3.5mil. The whole point of these moves is to push this team into the new era of NHL hockey (speed and pressure) in hopes of pushing them out of lottery range for that year. Since I need the cap space Lucic is taking up to do so, I'll pay the cost.

Agreed on the Puljujarvi trade. I don't like it, but it's likely the cost for doing business. If it's Pesce, I'm content and willing to add. If it's Faulk, I'll begrudgingly accept in order to facilitate the vision for the team. Then again, my hopes for Puljujarvi aren't as high as some.

Hagelin adds speed and low-event hockey to counter Caggiula's hardwork and high-event hockey.

Gunnarsson reinforces our PK and should help balance a pairing with Faulk on it.

Overall, we'd be hurting our future in order to improve our present (but actually this time, Peter) while our future assets still have some of that future sparkle.

Lucic is not waiving his NMC to go to a rebuilding team. And NYR are looking to add young players, not washed up guys on the wrong side of 30.

Buy yourself this pillow, and you will even score outside your fantasy league.

So let me preface this by saying the Flames have a lot to worry about, Smith, Neal, etc!

But are you telling me you have to play a 8M dollar player on Mc’s wing so he can produce?!?! Wow!!

What better way to go about adding high end players than by drafting them? It's not like they'll be hard-pressed by not having that 3.5mil cap hit for the next 4 (or 2 if compliance buyout) years. It's pretty much "hey, are you guys willing to trade 3.5mil in cap space for a 1st in a good draft year?" to which most rebuilding or expansion teams would say "yes goddam please".

As for Lucic waiving to go to rebuilding team, would he waive to go to the cultural and economic mecca of North America where- unlike the rest of the league- he might actually still have a chance at top-6 minutes after this year? (frank) his NMC. We can never know where he'd accept a trade to until it happens so all it does is derail conversation.

Meanwhile, Gaudreau can't produce without 11mil worth of players on his line (despite all the evidence to the contrary).
