I don’t know where to find the stat, but during the broadcast the announcers commented several times that the first lines were going head to head.

There’s a certain under appreciated 2dOA draft pick who played on the first line tonight, and contributed an assist.

If that line shut down Stamkos and Kuch for 16 shifts, it would suck for a particular narrative.

I agree that he's not a bad player and I hope he just needs some more seasoning.

I suspect that two factors, maybe three factors, are playing into this.

1) Sabres playing well - sitting in a playoff spot right this second
2) Rochester playing really well
3) Thompson is the young guy that we traded ROR for

Perhaps Botts and PH are both interested in keeping him up here based on their personal desires to see that trade work as well as possible, and the "things are fine right now" mentality mixed in.

Fun time last night, out with friend who is huge Bolts fan and STH.
Bolts are my 2nd favorite team, but obviously pulling for the Blades.
Really thought hey were going to lose given the Bolts sustained pressure in the 2nd & 3rd...
