He's let in about 5 or 6 where he would absolutely like back

But they aren't game killers that's for sure. A couple of them the Sabres were going to lose, and a few of them was a 2nd goal where the Sabres won by a pair or more.

- Stripes77

I think it's the timing of the weak goals, he absolutely lets in some stinkers, but they're not at inopportune times like Lehner had, Johnson is just awful.

Edit: Basically, I agree.

Bills waived WR Terrelle Pryor.

Someone named Robert Foster led the Bills in receiving in their upset smash of the Jets as Pryor was targeted zero times. Pryor drew five looks in two games in Buffalo. If the 29-year-old converted quarterback can't last in the Bills' desperate receiver corps, his NFL future is looking bleak.

is there a tactical reason why bell wouldn't show up/make 14.5 million? Seriously asking
- Sabresfan-365

The Steelers didn't want him back imo. Conner is almost as good this year, cheaper and didn't try to make the organization do something.

Bell keeps a year of wear of his body, and can sign a big deal next year.

They probably reached an agreement that the Steelers won't tag him again next year. It kinda benefits both sides

Spite, pure and simple.

I don't think it's that $14.5M either, I think it's prorated.

Franchise tag. HE didn't report so he loses $14.7MM this season for no reason other than he is an idiot.

I was saying if he did report today he wouldn't have made the full tag price, it would've been prorated.

The tag next year(3rd tag) is the average of the top 5 QB salaries, so at least $25M. The Steelers would be morons if they did that.

Thanks

It seemed odd that he wouldn't report given that contracts have few guarantees in the NFL but if he's in line for a nice pay day...

"My understanding is the NFL management council and the NFL Players' Association, the parties that negotiated the collective bargaining agreement, are on the same page that if Bell were tagged a third time, whether he shows up this season, whether he sits out the entire year, that tag would be at the higher quarterback number, not the lower number similar to what he would be due under the franchise tag this year," Pelissero said on NFL Up To the Minute on Tuesday.

Yeah, but if you don't play you have a much lesser chance of getting hurt, you could always pull a Dustin Penner, Sammy Sosa, the guy who severed ligaments in his thumb slicing a bagel using a very dull knife, etc...

I think you are correct Homie...
John Clayton was going off on Bell last week on WGR saying that if he doesnt sign by today, he is a complete idiot and he and his agent have no clue about the rules.
Apparently, somehow he loses a boat load of money ... that sounded about right.

Don't agree here

There have been a few real weak goals

The third goal for Vancouver for example

- Stripes77

I'm with you. He seems to let in mainly weak goals but stands on his head the rest of the game.
