Wouldn’t it be a riot if the Canucks and Kings pulled off a trade

If he’s willing to re-sign then I’d 100% be interested

Where would he play? Move him to the wing with EP?

He’s a natural RW, I’d play him with Bo and keep Brock with EP.

Trying to imagine Jimbo tap dancing a contract with an actually useful UFA...

A 200’ game (the length of the ice) means contributing at both ends. “Offensive type players” get maligned for poor defensive coverage, noting that they don’t play a 200’ game, but these “defensive specialists” also don’t play a 200’ game, because they don’t have the skill or creativity to put up goals/assists, which are ultimately the means by which a game is measured.

Exactly and if you looks at Beagle's average #'s over his past 4 seasons in WAS that's exactly what he does. No it's not Mcdavid #'s but that's not the point.

A 200' 'game' can mean a great many things. You don't need to be a Crosby to be labelled a player that can play 200'.

Long time Canuck fans had to know that Sutter-Edler-Tanev-Baertchi and a few others are going to be out of the lineup with injuries. Their stats just don't show they will be able to play healthy seasons anymore. Beagle out is huge in my book. Plays the 200' game wins draws and contributes from time/time on the scoresheet plus plays in the tough areas.

But you're correct it's the top 6 that needs support. Pettersson has cooled off big time as expected as teams are playing him differently now. Horvat is playing a super large workload. Boeser and baercthi out are big too.

I'm just hoping Hughes and OJ aren't injury-prone for next season.

- LordHumungous

Beale does not play a 200 foot game.
He's excellence from the blue line bank and good on the draw.
Bo is a good 200 foot player, sutter looks like an rocket Richard winner next to beagle.

200 foot means good in the o zone.
Only Beagles wife thinks he's good in the O zone.
Not saying he's garbage.... but not an offensive player at all.

The Canucks aren't going to have him ride shotgun with with Boeser and EP like when Beagle would get time with Kuznetsov, Ovechkin, Backstrom and Oshie.

The 20-21 season cap is going to be a (frank)ing delight to watch these guys manage.

I would be surprised and thankful if they could get in 70-75 games. 4 of the 5 you mentioned play big minutes when healthy.

and agree with the defensive player often generously being labeled a 200ft player.

We have a lot o injuries, guys that should be playing in the bottom 6 are in the top6

seeing why we need another hit in the first round. we need another centre that can win faceoffs. we need some of our young offensive wingers to push for a call up, but haven't heard if any are ready on the defensive side of the game.

our depth is already in the lineup or injured.

- hillbillydeluxe

Agree I would love to see Hughes or another blue-chipper here. But I also want the team to improve in the standings and that means drafting around the 10th spot in my estimation. Another Horvat-type center would be great.

Benning will probably be gone by the next draft. Unless they somehow miraculously keep a similar pace for the rest of the year

Man this team misses Beagle and Sutter big time, The G string boys (Granlund, Goldobin, Gaudette) just aren't effective in their own zone.

Oh well just have to accept the losses while Beagle and Sutter heal.

- Makita

Need the 4th G stringer....
And Sutter back
The longer beagle is out, the more exciting the team is to watch.

Beagle is guance in ten years.
They both lack skill.

I'm still expecting a FO cleaning after this year unless they make the playoffs.

FAQ hiring a new pres who brings in his own boy as GM. But that guy will probably be in "hurry up" mode and this team still doesn't have enough pieces to get to that yet.

Even if he's around, you'd think at some point they'd have to realise they need someone else to glue together contracts for them.

A career peak of 10 goals and a career average of 6 goals does not a200 foot player make.

We already have sutter and beagle, how many great 200 foot players do we need? If we have a 4th great 200 foot player, wil we move Peterson to the wing?

Aquilini probably plans to fire him after the season. Or else he would have brought in a new Prez already. Either that or he is tightening the purse strings
