He’ll be back home in the SHL by Christmas
- Nucker101

I hope so. It’s the only place we can be certain he is safe

Whats wrong with Beagle? He is a great 4th line centre.
- thundachunk

I think it's already been proven we don't need him. I like the other 2 FA signings we made this summer but he is superfluous

Only 20 games into a long season?

Not sure how it’s already been proven? I would argue it’s blatantly obvious he is needed.

If Sutter wasn't injured you couldn't say that.

One of them is definitely needed though.

Canucks are first team to 20 games, with 13 of the 20 on the road. If they look a bit tired, they've got a decent excuse.

- VANTEL

It's all good and fine to blame the schedule...but most (if not all) of us knew this was coming. With injuries and the lack of depth/D/goaltending in the lineup, it was only a metter of time. It was nice while it lasted but now reality is setting in. It is what it is. I still say we finish 21-25 though.

The goal tending has not been the problem this year. It was not good last night but you certainly can't blame it for the year.

Anyone who thinks the road schedule has not had an effect , well I won't get into it.

So after 20 games with a beaten up roster they are above .500 . How many seen that coming? I never seen such a fan base that wants their team to lose (not you) so they can come in here pound their chest and say I told you so.

They don't even care about the draft pick they are just excited when their is failure.

I think the team has had a good start and will be at home more with some bodies coming back. Lets see how the next 20 go.

Auldy on the Canucks: The Canucks have more depth this year in Greens second season which has helped a ton with the injuries. But, two road trips across the country in one month? I have never seen this before. I give this team a B+ thus far.

Here is another excuse but don't let the facts get in the way of a good hate tirade

Probably why when the team wins some come in here and are so happy. Combat the people that are so overjoyed when the team loses.

Team has played a lot of games. Illusion of the standings.

At this point I just dont understand how DP is still playing first pair minutes and the PP.

Why is Granlund still playing center? A combined 30% win percentage over the last two games.

I give Marwood credit . He shows up good or bad but some others I tell you.

I don't care about DP he is a one year project. Hughes will own his spot next year.

Granlund won't be playing center when Beagle and Sutter come back

So we've hit the 1/4 mark in the season and I'll freely admit the team has been much better than I thought they would.

Pettersson's been all-world, not much left to say there.
Horvat's taken another step towards legitimate all-star 2nd line center.
Gudbranson's been a pleasant surprise offensively.
Virtanen with 8 goals and increased ice time has also been a nice surprise.
Hutton's been better, but he's a 3rd pairing guy.

Fair points. I would say the injuries are more of a factor than the sched but thta's just me. Canucks have top 5 worst travel sched year after year because of where they are located so it is what what it is...and Bettman hates us lol.

All I want to see is improvement with the kids and I think we have seen that. Move up 5 spots or so in the standings from season to season and all should be good.

This team is going to lose regardless of the positives. Hughes and OJ should be up full time next year which I think will help massively.

Picking around 10th overall I know the lose for Hughes crowd doesn't like it but it is what it is. Like I said I'd rather this club improve 5 spots every season than pick top 5 every year and stay in the basement every season.

lol there will always be excuses when a team overachieves for a bit. Habs got absolutely smoked by the Oil last night. Draisaitl should have had 7 goals if he would have buried all his chances. Wonder if there will be some excuses from Habs fans today?

Beagle is needed big time. Rousell has looked better than expected. Schaller has underachieved but to me that was to be expected as he is playing with much weaker players in the bottom 6 here than he was in Boston last year. I think Schaller will get it going as well just needs some support.

I listened to the Canucks game on sat radio on my way to Edmonton yesterday, then watched the Oilers game on TV.

Niemi was horrible.

If teams think they can win by trying hard like Vegas did last season. They crazy. Ottawa, Montreal, Vsncouver had hot starts. All cooled off.

Jeez....kind of disappointing Lind, Gadjovich and Palmu have combined for only one goal this year in the AHL. They haven't played every game but I thought we'd see more from them.

13 Kole Lind R 6 0 2 2 2 -4
22 Jonah Gadjovich L 9 1 0 1 2 -4
52 Petrus Palmu R 9 0 0 0 2 -4

The only other option, currently, is Gaunce.
Centre depth was an obvious concern, going into the season.

Why is being realistic based on last seasons performance (with same defense & goaltending tandem back) and this seasons rosterfull of rookies and NHL/AHL tweeners, being a hater?
You must be the veteran mentor for the emotionally fragile millennials in here. At least you post after a loss.
