They didn't play a horrible road game, they were still in it until the 4th goal, 5 minutes into the 3rd... a real smelly goal by Niemi... Those goals can be deflating, especially to a young team... and as far as the shot total goes, I think that was more Edmonton realizing how generous Niemi was being and they fired everything at him, from anywhere... Habs were not dominated the way the score sheet would suggest, not even close!

The first goal was a lucky bounce, if he wasn't floating around like a baby seal, Niemi could of been in position to prevent the goal... the 3rd, 4th and 5th goals were all saves a goalie needs to make! Habs tried to fight back and stay in the game and did that for 2 periods but the bad goal flood gates opened up early in the 3rd

Niemi is not the anwser to anything. They will live or die with Price (unless they pull a trade, but I don't really believe in that).

You expect your goalie to make a few saves that maybe he shouldn't from time to time, allowing 4 goals he should have had in 1 game is unacceptable and the D isn't to blame... Schlemko got burnt by McDavid on a few occasions, but that's to be expected I suppose, other than that, it's all on Niemi

Weber should help the D. They also could use a top LH defenseman to play with him, once he is back. That won't come free. But like you said, the goalies have to be better. Mostly Price since he is the clear number one on that team.
