That is a legit complaint and it falls squarely on Ron Hextall. The GM said that the PK would be addressed in the offseason, but it was not. - BiggE
I would really go big and try to get Petriangelo and Steen from STL. Petriangelo because he would be that top end guy to either pair with Provorov or go 1-2 with on different pairs.
I like Steen as a solid vet who can kill penalties but always seems to be around the puck and has kind of a calm to his game.
I know you would have to give to get but I think this team needs to start using some chip to get. the window is about to open and they need to be ready to push through. |

Would love to see AP in orange and black!

I think we should really go big and go after Hedman in TB. |

I don't think STL will trade their captain. |

In a second but if ever something was not realistic or feasible it's this.

That was really the point of the post. Although I think we can get them to throw in Kucherov if we sweeten the deal. |

Probably not, but it doesn't have to be AP. If Winnipeg can't get Trouba re-signed after the end of the season, he'd be a guy I'd ask about. A top pair of Provorov-Trouba would be nice both at ES and on the PK.

St. Louis is in win now mode, coach and GM on the hot seat. I'm not sure what we could offer that would help them with that by taking AP away from them. Jake straight up? Does that make sense for them? |

I am tired of hearing "they won't do that".
I am sure there were plenty of people that said that about guys like Weber, Subban, Drouin, Galchenyuk, Kessel, Phaneuf.
Yuo have to make it worth it. And if the farm has been stockpiled so much like people say then you use that. I am not saying you go just for anyone. It has to be the right one.
The window for the Flyers is about to open. I don't want to figure it out when it's open. I want to be ready to run threw it when it opens.
If it's making a play a year early for a top tier guy then I want to go that route and be ready. |

I know they are win now and are not playing well at all. At some point they might try to get back some pieces they moved for O'Reilly and Schenn. |

So tell me what a realistic deal the Flyers could make for either AP or Hedman is that doesn't hurt the Flyers in the end.

It'll be a severe overpay to make the deal for AP. AP is who they are building around. That is someone calling Hextall on Provy. STL's core is Vlad, Steen, Schenn, AP, Parayko... and I know I'm forgetting at least one more. Those are the guys that they won't trade in their win now mode. The piece they need is a goalie so if you are calling them you better be bringing a good goalie to the table.

If STL goes into a tear down this fast after the Schenn and O'Rielly deals it's not just the coach's head that will roll. |

Exactly, the coach and GM don't want assets they want players to help them win now. I just can't see us giving them a package that helps them do that for AP without a severe over payment. |

The Flyers lost a 2-1 game in regulation? Their first regulation loss in what, 2 weeks?
ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! - BiggE
Its not the end of the world, but the same issues plague this team year after year after year. The players say the same thing and yet nothing changes.
I am not a fan of Hakstol, but the issue of not playing 60 minutes rests on the players, mainly the core, especially the captain |

Cause if you are trying for AP with only this year an next you aren't going for the long term that bringing in Hedman is. Bringing in AP is a win now and be damned with the future move. Bringing in Hedman is a we want a long window move. And if I'm giving the assets needed to make either move I'm not doing the old Clarke/Holmgren move. |
