And I understand what people are saying. I just feel this team needs another top end defender for this year and moving forward.

I know about guys like Myers, Sanheim, Hagg, Morin. I still feel that is still too much banking on potential. i want a more known entity to push this thing forward.

Edit: To answer. I would do it. Hamilton is on a nice deal. i know Voracek is a great player but you do have a 36 goal scorer coming back to add to the lineup.

The push is Myers/Hart/Frost/Farabee....This team is a cup contender when G is not the core anymore. People hate hearing it but it's the truth.

Lose AMac/Gudas/Lehtera/Weise/the goalie carosel replace with the above and another D prospect.

Exactly that!

They are reporting Nylander now wants an even larger signing bonus to offset games missed this season based on his holdout. A signing bonus commiserate with the $ per game of any new deal.

DELUSIONAL!!!!

I must've watched a different game than folks here. I didn't think it was awful at all. Florida played a tight game and did a good job keeping the Flyers on the perimeter. Florida's first goal was a crazy fluke, and their second, while stoppable was also a terrific shot. The Flyers played a really strong third period and got them to bend but not break. It happens. The sky is not falling.

Pretty much how I saw it. The Flyers did sag somewhat in the 2nd period, but it's not like they fell apart.

Of course he wants compensation. Toronto stalled to get things down, thinking they would save on pro-rated # of games played on anew contract. After holding out this long Nylander's camp won't fold so easily.

Some high level mental activity going on in here today.

Perhaps the duo of Malkin and Crosby has finally run its course. Perhaps Voracek for Malkin?

Didn't they also take 3 penalties that period too?

The penalties kill this team because i feel they have this sense of something bad's going to happen. There is just no confidence they will kill it off. Just my opinion

Penalties either way seem to derail this team. Funny though, they did a very good job killing off the first one and you'd hope that would carry over. Of course having your top PK Dman in the box doesn't help. Honestly, I think failing to score on the pp hurt them more. They were playing pretty well up to that point and seemed to deflate after failing to get anything going on it.

Your exactly right. The PP might be killing this team more then the PK.

And just like that, the Flyers dropped down 2 spots out of the wild card chase.

Win a game and they move back up.

Welcome to the NHL of the past few years.

Three penalties to their top center (1) and D man (2) on the PK within 10 minutes and they gave up one goal. That's what any team would take. Getting one power play and not capitalizing was definitely a blow.

But that game was won between the pipes by Luongo. Jake had to pick an area that Luongo seemed to have covered to score. There was just about no room for that puck to go past Luongo. I even think he thought he had that angle covered.

Normally I would say yes but not when you have given up a goal in 10 out of 11 games. They need some games with not giving up any pk goals.

Yep. Hamilton is a head case/locker room cancer. Not going to give up Jake (with all his warts) for that.

It absolutely is (imo). While our PK sucked last year, we could rely on our PP to get a goal back or two in close games. Now it seems we give up more chances on the PP than we generate.

Yeah but remember when reports were of Hamilton wanting something astronomical in Boston and then he signed a reasonable deal in Calgary.

There's a reason a guy his age with that talent is always on the market and it isn't a good one.
