Leafs have enough cap, players, prospects and picks to make it happen and pay attention to who the leafs are supposedly scouting and who's playing/local. No one is necessarily available but that doesn't mean they aren't or talks aren't happening.

Florida has a very young team and if they continue to suck, they'll just draft another quality player in the draft lottery, maybe Quenneville too given his connection to Dale Tallon. I don't see them needing to move Ekblad. If they do though, the Leafs should be all over it, I agree, they'd be stupid not to make that deal if it was there.

This is like a broken record. We have heard this the past 15 years for Florida. They have great young talent and will be better....
At some point they do need to start to win. Many people called them to be better this year.

That and/or relocate to Quebec City when they've bled enough money.

Tallon was Florida Gm for 6 years. Florida gave him the classic "Promotion" then changed their mind and made him GM again.
And Leafs had the $$$ to bring in the best management team and coach money can buy. Florida has one of the smallest operational budgets in the NHL.
