Getting open on a PP is not all that impressive. Laine has what 7 pp goals and one empty net goal? - PatC80
doesn't really matter how he's doing it if he's scoring 40+ a year. if it was easy more players would be doing it. |

His first two years suggests he will rebound....just struggling 5 on 5 right now...can’t see his game falling that far after 2 seasons

Move him to RW, to replace Nylander. Good thinking. đź‘Ť - PatC80
Sure hey if you can convert Burns to a Dman then you can make Karlsson a forward |

if karlsson sucks the entire season how does this affect his next contract? still think someone will give him $10M+ over 7 years if he's coming off a garbage season? |

laine has been trash yet he's still on pace for 41 goals lol. imagine when he actually starts playing well - daeth
That would require him to be more than a power play specialist, though. Which is really all he is. |

If he passes on Ekblad for Nylander, he's an idiot. - Unholy_Goalie
Only an idiot would think ekblad is on the table.
Financially it doesnt work.
Move on. |

A) Because the contract was designed to do it.
B) He's not leaving 6 million on the table. Check Capgeek for the facts. He has a 3 million dollar signing bonus July 1st. He'd be leaving 1.25 on the table. Really 650K. - Unholy_Goalie
Cool.
No proof he'll simply walk off into the sunset. |

Easily....someone would take the risk of this just being a down year for him....would be too tempting for some to pass up |

Yeah, man. He's been (frank)ing terrible. Defensively, he's still the same useless guy he's always been. But offensively he's really dropped off.
Wouldn't surprise me if he got more points as the season goes on, though. |

Whether or not he's on the table is a different story.
But financially, it definitely works. A #1 RHD 22 year old making 7.5 works perfect financially. No problem whatsoever. |

The final year of his contract is proof if you understand how it's structured. |

I'd assume so. They'd most likely regret it eventually (maybe even immediately), though. |

I have no doubt, he'll be a 40 goal scorer this year, just his 5v5 numbers are hard to explain. |

Liljegren and Sandin have been really good.
probably a few years away from being an impact but having those guys on 900k salaries for three years will be huge. - Santo_44
Bring up lili to replace gardiner next year, then bring up saudin the following year if hes ready |

Because doing it to a prospect compared to a guy who has 2 Norris trophies is helluva big difference. |
