I wasnt being serious.,
My concern meter about Dubas trading for older players is 0.0 - senstroll
I was really referring to people in here making stupid trade suggestions for old players... I dont think Dubas would do that, but you never know! |

Yes, Marleau still looks like he's got a few good years left. IMO
I don't think we keep him past next year unless its for $1m or something cheap. - Garnie
Thing with Marleau is that he hasn't gotten hurt, right? He's been healthy for forever. Hasn't missed a game in almost a decade.

Not a very good comparison.
Because youve seen enough of his (trumps) actions on tv, twitter etc over the past 3-4 years.
Not a fan of domis actions on the ice, but interviews he seems ok. |

Heavy body too, looks slower then he is IMO.
I think he still contributes....not saying he's a superstar or anything.

Yeah, when he's got momentum on his side he's a hell of a lot stronger than he looks. He can probably still be a good 3rd line guy for a couple more years if he wants to keep chasing that cup. |

So if D men are so wildly more valuable to teams why is a guy like Slavin(Who is apparently better than Nylander) is paid 1-2 million less than guys like Nylander?
If Slaavin is more valuable AND better should GM's pay more for him?
Or are fans just spewing bull poop here and its actually the other way around that GMs value scoring like the Paternaks and Nylanders of the world more? Sure seems like it............... |

it the other 29 teams (apart from carolina and toronto) would have to pick between adding nylander or slavin to their team (without giving anything up), most would probably pick nylander.
the ones that would pick slavin, would have a really good top6 fw already, ánd probably close to max cap hit. |

Both Max and Donald have Grade A douchebags for fathers.
I'm very happy the Leafs didn't draft him when there was significant pressure on them to do so. |

Well that is the thing...Carolina fans will boast that Slaavin is untouchable because of the position he plays...then why is he payed less than a Nylander or Pasternak?
Me thinks GM's value players differently than fans think. |

Slavin.
Dougie's fun to watch when he's on his game, but Slavin is so, so good all over the ice. He doesn't make mistakes. |

Some interesting quotes from Waddell today. I wonder if he'd put Hamilton on the table in a deal. Even if the Leafs get WN signed and back in the lineup now it could be something that happens down the line. |

It's primarily because the Canes were progressively thinking ahead and signed Slavin to a reasonable deal before he became as good as he is.
