Some interesting quotes from Waddell today. I wonder if he'd put Hamilton on the table in a deal. Even if the Leafs get WN signed and back in the lineup now it could be something that happens down the line. - The Law
I would do a Hamilton for Nylander trade. I think that would be good too. |

It's primarily because the Canes were progressively thinking ahead and signed Slavin to a reasonable deal before he became as good as he is. - PatC80
Not really.
If you look at his stats they are the same.

You use the lack of a track record against him. But he wanted to stay. He's loyal to a fault. It's the same reason he stuck with a super poopty college team even though he had offers from other teams. They were the ones that presented him with an opportunity first and he was grateful to them.
He's also SUPER religious. |

He said he has talked to the Leafs about Nyalnder but sounds like the Leafs intentions are solely to sign him still |

Come on man.
You and I do not know him or what his intentions were...its frustrating when fans make these types of claims when you don't know poop.
All we have is stats and the eye test.
The past three years his stats are nearly identical...nothing has changed before or after his contract was signed. |

Also they signed Slavin in July of 2017, when he had only played 150 games. I don't think the money was as big a deal for him as it is for some guys. |

Not all stats make a defenseman good, Slavin is good. The dude is not known for his offense, but he's great defensively, and has both the size and the skating skill to do it well, and he's very smart with the puck... Plus, he's doing it against top players, night in and night out. |

I dunno.
Why has Hamilton, a top pairing RHD who skates like a deer, been dealt twice already in his young career? There's something pretty rotting-fishy about Dougie methinks... |

Since 2015 he leads all defensemen in takeaways with 237.
Slavin and Erik Karlsson are the only two defensemen to have reached the 200 mark. |

Did you read Civian's article about Slavin where she went back and spoke with him, his former coaches and people in his life about who he is as a person and not just the hockey player aspect of it? |

Chara hurt.

Buffalo and Montreal fans should be loving that news.
Leaf fans too but we should make playoffs regardless. Hopefully I didn't just jinx it lol

If Slavin and Pesce won't be moved, I'm ok with Hamilton. I don't know what's happened in the past, but whatever it was, Babs will beat it out of him soon enough |
