It sucks but its the way it is...There is absolutely a pressure to be a part of it and if you are not then your character is questioned.

Just like the trades...if you can't handle being ripped a part everyday by your co workers and employers then you won't make it in the business. It sucks but in certain professions your personality will either bring you down or push your forward. And that wont be changed any time soon.

Depends on the team and the expectations for individuals though, right?

Sure some groups may be like that, but there's nothing that says it has to be that way for all teams.

Lou makes guys shave, which is dumb as hell.

Dubas wants his players to express themselves as individuals and feel comfortable being who they are. As long as everybody is pulling the same direction, who gives a (frank)?

You don't have to be friends outside work...sure.

I am just saying it is not hard to take a few hours out of your day every now and then to show you care. Just like your families...you don't have to hangout every weekend with them but when thanksgiving rolls around you all get together. You don't skip out on it because you would rather spend time by yourself.

So, does anyone think we have ANY chance with Sparks in the net tomorrow on the 2nd of a back-to-back?

ZERO confidence in him...

My brother has been a firefighter for 10 years...their crew is like a bretheren. Everyone is close together, they may not be friends but you treat everyone like a brother.

Over the years they have had to move certain guys off their crew. Why? because they caused problems within the team. When certain personalities don't fit within the team it creates problems and that effects the team as a whole. Which can't happen when you are with each other as much as you are.

I imagine its similar with Hamilton.

I will grant him a mullie for last game since he hadn't played in ages.
But if he sucks again tomorrow the Leafs seriously need to consider a Plan B outside the organization. He had a bad camp, and one good game so far against LA who can't score on anybody.
We don't want the season derailed if Anderson goes down like Vasilevsky just did.

I think when you are on a team you still have to attend team dinners and stuff like that. I don't know if that has happened regularly when he was on the Flames but it was proven to of happened once when he went to the museum instead.

Just like any work place...you don't have to be friends but when there is work parties and events you at least make an appearance.

- Santo_44

Team dinners arent mandatory and who said he didnt attend any, he may attended most or some. His choice to do other things on his own time.

Nothing is mandatory.

You do things for your team, much like your family even when you don't want to. It is not hard to take a few hours out of your day to do things for people.

Sadly a lot of people have problems with this.

Team dinners arent every day...........just like a work party. They are rare and anyone can take a few hours every now and then to show you care. It is not hard to do at all.

Some people are extrovert and have more personality than others. Some people are introverts and like their alone time. Who (frank)ing cares.. it shouldn't impact anything in the dressing room. They are with these people every day during the season, do they have to spend even more time with these people just to please everyone? Hell no.

I get going out with the guys every now and then is always a good thing to do, and I'm sure they do. But other times they would just rather do their own thing. There is no issue with that, everybody has these moments l, it also depends on your mood and other things in life you're dealing with that can trigger this.

Who really cares though.

Remember when players would get traded for banging each other's wives?

Those were the days.
