Darling has been okay so far... the fact that his current .913 save percentage is some of the best goaltending the Canes have seen in a decade is pretty depressing, though.

Darling has been okay so far... the fact that his current .913 save percentage is some of the best goaltending the Canes have seen in a decade is pretty depressing, though.

Yeah, well, Darling has only played 5 games too. Mrazek was alright, not great. McElhinney was atrocious.
The team actually gave McElhinney some time off to go see his family this week. |

He very well could be. Same with Leivo. Definitely a borderline NHL player right now.
That being said, he's averaged 20 goals every year in a row for 4 years so he definitely has the ability to score in Sweden / the AHL. His lack of size will always be an uphill battle for him to stay in the NHL. If he doesn't make it as a top-six winger, he'll struggle as a bottom six forward.
Wonder where those people are that said he'd be better than Kapanen? |
