Hornie is playing just like he always does, but he is useless unless they take shots while he's parked in front of the net. This team is so easy to play against because they're only interested in east/west passing and "one and done" rushes. It's boring to watch because the puck rarely ends up in the high danger areas.
- madmike71

Yeah agreed, he just needs to be put on the first or second line.

This is from my 1 and only NHL source haha
Asked him what he thinks of the trade and what he thinks of Pearson....

“This is an absolute steal man. Pearson is like today’s type of power forward. Good speed, good defensively, good shot. Complete player, top 6 guy. Only knock on him is some people think he should be more aggressive and hit more. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on a 50-55 point pace with the pens if he plays on top 2 lines once he gets his feet wet there. From our side of things we heard teams were offering a 1st at last years trade deadline for Pearson so that’s shows you what other teams think as well. We are shocked he went for so little and never knew he was available for that cheap. How many games has he played, 16? The kings score like 2 goals a game so I wouldn’t be worried about these 16 games.”

That's good to hear, hopefully it works out!

I know they haven't put Horny with Sid all year and Sully constantly changes lines but come playoff time I like the possible top 6 wing duos of Guentz/Horny and Pearson/Kessel.

They started the season with Jake-Sid-Horn as the first line.

I guess he was peached on, yes. Nothing wrong letting him cool off a little (that sheep and baby .gifs were really annoying), but he should get a [second] chance - especially to still competite in HBSL.

I forgot about that, it's been a long start to the season haha. At least it's felt that way to me.

I figured that didn't see him in here. How long is his ban?

You cant get banned for sheep gifs though, can you?

I like Aussie, he brings a different style and outlook here. I just know not to get caught up in the circular convos/arguments with him.

This is pretty in line with my thoughts. I’ve been high on Pearson his entire career and felt he kinda stalled on the Kings due to the system’s lack of offense. I wonder if Pearson will eventually take Hornqvist’s position on the PP as the net front guy since he’s less of a one trick pony and less of a threat to completely kill a PP possession with a dump in.

When you post it insessntly and ruin threads with idiotic clap backs at people who have no actual interest in what you have to say, then yes, I think it’s ban worthy. It’s been refreshing not having to deal with pages and pages of huge GIFs.

I hope he's in the lineup tonight...he's not coming from up this way north of your border, so there shouldn't be any visa issues.

I really liked Hags despite the lack of tangible production. He was always a 2nd half player regarding production anyway. One of the only Pens players I truly believe brought 100% every night or most nights.

I’m gonna miss Hagelin too. He became a favorite of mine after HBK, but man was this trade awesome.

Hahah fair enough. There were a few days I wasn't around here much, I must of missed the Aussie giffy climatic conclusion. I never saw him post more than one or two in a blog's thread.

I don't think this trade moves the needle that much, but I only see upside in it.

Agreed on the ice, but I think TP is a better fit cap-wise than Hags.

Also, while the Perron for Hags deal wasn't an Earth-shatterer, it ended up paying off big time. Maybe they'll hit gold again.

This is what I’m banking on. Outside of one or two positions in the bottom six, they don’t necessarily need upgrades to the forward group, just changes.

I know I'm harping on LA, but I wish there was a way to bring in Muzzin and Clifford.

Ok here we go...

TO LA: Maatta, Sprong and a 3rd (2020)
TO PIT: Muzzin and Clifford

I really don’t feel the need to give up a package of assets for another LD as good as Muzzin is. We need to be targeting RDs.

Again, this has to do more with the locker room shift if you will. I think freshening things up will go a long way. Plus, Muzzin is actually an upgrade to Maatta, marginal upgrade, but an upgrade none-the-less. He's also a better skater.

I just think the team needs one or two more profound changes after the Hagelin deal. I'm a fan of both Maatta and Hornqvist, but IMO they make the most sense to jettison.

Exactly my aim regarding the fantasy team, that and the 3rd defense pair. Always that bunch of non-producers and liabilities!

$1.6M for a 4th line physical player. I can't really say I've watched him a lot but isn't he a poor mans Ryan Reeves?
