Hey guys who moved to warmer climates ... what's it like after living here for so many years - is it awesome ? I've REALLY been thinking of moving out of this crap. It still gets cold during winter, and much hotter Summer.

I still have no idea why Sloan exists. Funny thing is they have their own highway department and it's like a square mile.

The East Coast side absolutely....lived the for 6 months...took quite a bitbbto get use to it...not a fan.

Gulf Coast is Mid-West flair ...a poop ton of Buffaloneans down ggere...and I man quite a bit...run into a new one evryday ig seems like.

People on East come straight down US 95
People on West come down US 75.

Night and friggin daydifferent from each other.

Traffic - not bad in off-season, does get busy in-season for sure.

Hurricanes scare the bejesus out of me ... Irma last year came very, very close to us...thankfully by the time it came up the coast it had died down to barely a Cat2...still, 100mph winds can do damge.
Luckily, we live in a new home rated for Cat4/5 and far enough from water that we should (says quick prayer) be fine.

Not alot of tornado threats yet.

No income taxes,
property taxes are like 35-40 % up there,
8- 9 months of incredible weather,
3-4 months hot with drink in hand in the pool.
Professional sports represented well just 45 minutes away
It's pretty close to paradise, but don't tell anyone...let 'em stay up north, lol
Worst part is listening to family and friends female doging about spring and winter weather up there.

Moving south is a bit of a conundrum for me. I hate being in a/c all the time but as I get older I get tired of dealing with winter. The maintenance of winter gets tiring.

I hung in until nearly 60...largely because my parents were elderly ... same with the wife's grandmother. They all pased with 12 months of each other 2 years ago...and I lost my job at Xerox in the same timeframe.
The stars all aligned and it became time to make a change.

I did the same about 2 yearsccago in July.
No doubt about it, it gets hot...not like TX though...but humidity is high here too.
Butvthat iz 3 months...so rather than locked up inside Dec -April up there, it is mid-June through Sept here.
...here's the difference...we still head out to pool, or beaches, on boat and have fun in the sun...jysg need water to cool off..and your favorite liquid beverage.
I wouldnt trade it for the world.
