I don't think these things happen within a vacuum for the GM though. Scouts, Assistant GMs, Hockey Operations, Coaches can all have influence. Everyone likes to give credit or blame to the GM specifically for everything, but it is an entire front office.

Sorry Z, but your character assassination of Panarin is based purely on speculation, inference, and opinion. Just like Hartman was a locker room problem, and Sharp was causing drama with Keith, and the list goes on for departed players who suddenly have character flaws once they no longer play in Chicago......maybe there's some truth to it, but it's all conjecture.

Forsberg is out of the lineup for a non injury. There's a flu going around. He and Tyler Sikura have been sick.

Panarin was not a “child” by any definition. What he was and is, is a selfish adult tool.

Also Hawks management did show you their hand if you were watching. Signed him for exactly Saad’s 6M without great haggling because the Hawks knew they were never going to pay it - but most impotantly NO NMC or NTC. Bowman gives these to everyone let alone a cornerstone piece. What happened next? Traded right after.

Feel free to defend Panarin all you want...but it won’t change anything. Panarin is not coming back.

I may be mistaken and probably am but I thought there was something about Panarin deal that prohibited a NMC or NTC in that deal .
For what it worth I have a sneaky suspicion that Stan has a plan to bring Panarin back ,call me crazy but not use cap money to the fullest is not Stan MO .
I am not Panarin biggest fan endless he is filling the net for the HAWKS .Stocking up on young fast Defenseman and bringing in a sniper like Parnarin to add to Kane Toews DBC Saad and maybe a few others could light some fire under this Team fast ..

Been saying this for awhile now. It just has that feel to it but who know's if Panarin gets traded or if Stan is even still with the team come the spring. I could definitely see it happening though IF the Hawks can move one of AA or Murphy's contracts off the books. My guess would be that Murphy would go first over AA if he can rebuild his value.

Perhaps but Keith is quicker than Coffey was. Keith's games isn't flat out speed it is quickness and his skating style made him quick.

For the Gamers out there......NHL19 has dozens of NHL legends from every Era in the Hockey Ultimate Team game mode..Gretzky, Paul Coffey, Ted Lindsay, Bernie Geoffrion, Brad Park, Bob Probert, Dennis Savard, Howie Morenz and the list goes on and on ......it's pretty sweet.

You are absolutely wrong. You should have done some research before posting as connected people said lots. In any event, in any situation where you are not standing beside the person, taking in what is happening first hand, there can still be loads of information that is incontrovertible.

Incontrovertible information:

Panarin was deemed expendable, and in fact was traded, by the Hawks after only 2 years. Management specifically gave him a contract equal to Saad’s with no NMC or NTC. Panarin does not get traded if he is viewed as very valuable and a locker-room asset.

Are you familiar with the term “Apples and Oranges”? Panarin is the same as the classy Ladd? Please. That some great players got traded because of the Cap, this has no connection to Panarin. Name even one controversy surrounding these great players.

Why should he be treated as a child? If I wish to work in Quebec or Italy or Japan I’m going to need to learn to speak French, Italian or Japanese. I wouldn’t expect anyone to treat me like a child.

Z3, my man, as objective as you say you are towards the game, why don't you treat the players the same? Let me give you the rundown on some things. Don't take this as talking down, it's the teacher in me coming through.

YOU would learn another language, an older man who is more accustomed to other's cultures, put yourself in the shoes of a 23-24 year old who only has a Russian mode of thinking. He only knows what his grandfather taught him, hockey related things, nothing on how to get ahead in America. There are social skills and codes of conduct in America that he doesn't know, as a child wouldn't know until taught by parents, right?

In regards to language, English, can you think of a harder language to learn? And you want him learning it in less than a summer? That's not fair. If you can't speak it, you can't read it and you can't write it, that all takes place on the same side of the brain. Children are awesome at learning language, they have the plasticity and neuro connections are much easier to make, when you are 20 or older, that's harder to do. Learning a new language, especially a bastage like English, it will be incredibly difficult. Dyslexia is incredibly high in English, no other language. The languages you listed are way easier to learn. When it comes to different things I observed with him, the way he goes about them should be viewed like how you do with a child.

Panarin seems like a homesick kid to me, one where he has to be surrounded by a Russian community and players, I have no problem with that. As Americans, most do, we are an elitist country. Learn our language, learn our customs, leave your problems outside our borders ... yadda. We make judgments on people's language/speech among many other things. I think of the Rush lyrics from the song witch hunt, "Quick to judge, quick to anger, but slow to understand."

Yes I am Crazy when it comes to matters of the HAWK . But that polar ice cap melt may be closer then we all think .. Little voice and some spider tingling's make me think it not out of the question .
