I called it 1st win for JC ,I also called 5 to 2 HAWKS and Hayden with the Gordie Howe hat trick .One out of three oh well HAWKS WIN !!!! ..
Baby steps .St.L was playing well coming into this game .HAWKS playing more physical PK seemed a little more aggressive .PP way to much passing ,said they worked OT on it today in morning skate .Still was 1 for 2 50% I guess hard to complain .. Like 29 game Crow was the great Allan was not bad either .. Couple post Jokers could have saved some nerves at the end . Get a another one on Friday against a desperate LA team ,HAWKS are still hanging around even after a tough 8 game losing streak .Never count these guy out ..GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

He is 22 already and not a star. - StLBravesFan
22 already? Is that to insinuate that he should be a complete player right now? He frustrates the heck out of me sometimes, but he definitely has plus skill, is a great distributor (albeit, too often), and has a ton of speed. If he gets the mindset to shoot more often, he will start scoring a lot more points.
We can't keep giving up on young players because they are not 200 ft all around players by the time they are 22. You also have to consider the build/type of player you are looking at. Unless he magically gains about 20-25 lbs, he's not going to be a "strong player". He'll need to use his other skills to be effective (which for the most part, I think he has). |

Strategy of letting young play with young and old with old is brilliant. for 3 years core players have been given a pass and all blame placed on young non core guys for struggles. Keith and Seabrook playing together shows more than words can say. I mean god bless them for all they have done and accomplished, but as we can see, their games have taken a big step back. Now everyone can see that.
Breaking this cycle is why Q had to go. His loyalty to those guys was not positive. |

I believe he was being sarcastic. He is just the type of guy that is built for today's nhl. He will figure it out and learn to play stronger. Kane got pushed around his first 2 or 3 years. A few months from now, he will be feeding Debrincat on a regular basis. |

To add to your points:
I really like the d-men funneling the Blues to the outside and even taking guys off the puck.
Gus was less of a disaster in his own end.
I noticed when Hayden came out of the box, there was a lot of confusion as to who takes who on the Blues. I think they need to find a better way to define coverage in those situations.
Overall, I really like The more physical/aggressive play with which they have recently been playing. |

Seems we're heading to more of a meritocracy system which can be good for the overall morale, if not for that of specific players.
It's also giving the kids more confidence, since they are playing more on instinct than worrying about what the vets want them to do or deferring to them in other ways. |

Ha, my bad! I'm more used to you being right down the middle. My apologies, I just had to stream the game with bad wifi in a hotel after a 2.5 hour drive.
My "sarcasm sensor" is not working properly. |

Good points .Keith frustrates the hell out of me always seems to be trying to do to much. Seebs struggles are well documented on here, but At least he try's to play within his limitations . Have not minded Gus game ever since JC 1st game when he was given a chance to play through his mistakes |

Thanksgiving playoff elimination express stalls for one game...
Hawks have been good for one these "real" hockey games about 1 every 5 games...defensively rock solid and cut down the unforced errors and craw did the rest...

Sounds like a “professional” broadcasting crew tonight. Very enjoyable. I always enjoy listening to Doc call a game. And, yes, Eddie contributes insightfully when away from foley.

The team presented him with the puck after the game.

Jeremy Colliton on #Blackhawks players presenting him with a game puck after his first #NHL victory:
"I’m just here to help them. So its kind of awkward, actually. But I do appreciate the gesture. Hopefully we can get some momentum going and build on it." |

Did anyone catch JC's presser after the game? The guy is so laid back and seems to be mature beyond his age. I think that the way he is holding Seabrook and Keith accountable by pairing them together is genius, and he should stick with it. Gustafson looks like a different player. I hope that JC can get these forward lines figured out sooner than later. |

Nice to see Forsling back
Like the PP
Like how aggressive the PK is in the corners
Like the 3 man forward rotation of the lower lines in the o zone so there's always a forward with net front presence - BetweenTheDots
Like new life at least tonight
Not stale, hits checking not a careless poor effort.
Like to see more Forsling. Wonder of Gus s scratch, repeat it to get his attention. Force him then to play smart hockey
How good is Raydish? He has been seemingly great lately. Not as good wheels .Murphy, Gus, Ruuta gone by trade deadline,? |

The bad.
The good: the two terrific assists on the goal.
The ugly: no SATs in 19 minutes from Schmaltz. |

2nd game in a row the club was only out hit by 1, 22-21. Of those 21 Martinson,7, Johnson, 4 and Hayden, 3 provided 14 of them.
Agree with Gus not blowing up in his own end. Was that cuz the 3rd and 4th line had a good amount of offensive zone time and the club only committed 1 penalty?
For the most part I thought the structure looked pretty damn good in all 3 zones although they gave up 2 grade A 's that a Blue missed an open net.
Really like the fancy numbers Joki has put up at the 1/4 pole: https://dobberhockey.com/...ju-heiskanen-november-15/ |

Good post and time of course will tell but you might be right here. New eyes on old problems can be a very good thing. Would that also apply to the GM?

Watching the thing and then looking at minutes played Debrincat's 14:40 is not enough. If JC insists on the kid playing L3 I'd like to see Dcat on the 1st unit PP ahead of Schmaltz. ........ Dcat is a pure goal scorer and not afraid to shoot.

I sense a new structure with JC. Certain players are playing with more confidence off the hop. It worked in Rockford, it may work here. The better the players look, if they are traded, it's better for our return on future assets. In last three years we could not give away pieces without throwing in our youthful low cap players. |
