Homie - you had the ballsy call of the year at 95 points. My call was 85 and missing the playoffs. So far the Sabres have totally exceeded my expectations.

Boss and I were saying they could make a run as soon as we won the lottery. Although I thought Mitts would be much better then he has been so i guess I went 1/2.

That one killed me. ESPN dumped hockey shortly after I moved here and I had very little to hold on to and the year before the lock out I watched 50+ games. The year after, all 82 and all Sabres mainly because I could not watch Dallas any more. Fell in love with their game and the rest is history! Been here 20+ years, hate winter, Lockport and Gerbe...do I fit in yet?

Go Sabres!

Lehner wasn't the problem,

Ask bandit

#Lehnerdefender

- Boss34

Lehner didn't score the least amount of goals in the league last year. The only team under 200 goals. He was not good last year, but he also had zero help. He is an average NHL goalie. He's having a nice bounce back year so far. 2.59 and .921; coincidentally both numbers are better than Hutton. Will they end the year like that? It remains to be seen, probably not. Hutton will likely end up on top.

He would definitely win the belly flop-to-snow angel showdown.

Yes you did. Against the Leafs. That would be an absolute dream come true.

Isn't it nice to now go into O/T or the shootout thinking that the Sabres at least have a 50/50 chance of winning the game? With Lehner in net, I had no confidence he would stop anything. IMO, the Lehner trade was Murray's worst trade.

- SabreWest

At least we got this out of it...

That wasn't the first time he did that either:

That perfect shot that hits the ice 8 feet in front of the goalie and he's got no chance to adjust to the bounce.

did anyone actually use those exact words?

As you like to say, can you back that up with proof?

Not that I can remember. Maybe he's confusing it with people female dogging that Botterill didn't get an "A" prospect like Kyrou, or the other wiener I can't remember right now. Thomas?

And he's conflating the two.

I believe so
But i do know (FOR SURE) that i was absolutely roasted by a handful of ppl bc i called him a “B prospect”
Thus, i believe it’s fair to assume they considered him a better prospect than that, which would obviously be “A level”

a) "i believe so" is not proof, especially not in the parameters you've drawn for others when you've hounded them over the span of days or weeks to provide hard evidence. Neither is "I know (FOR SURE)" without providing any proof.

b) socrates would cry, this is a false dichotomy. Just because they allegedly (you still have not provided any proof) roasted you for calling him a B prospect(by your standards) doesn't mean that they considered him an A prospect. And this assumes everyones scale is the same, which is unlikely to be the case.

I only got to watch from the 3rd period on, but if they sucked maybe the worst all year, how did they have more shots on goal than Winnipeg for the game and be dead even on shot attempts overall?
- kingcong39

I only saw tbe 1st period.
The following is from WGR article...PHam

"Yes, Buffalo had 16 shots in the second period, but much of it was from distance and Laurent Brossoit didn’t have to make too many big saves."

He also said Dahlin played his worst game of season.

I am enjoying the good fortunes of the Sabres.
They are finding ways to gain 2pts when having been outplayed during large portions of those games.
Finally, we have a team that is showing a strong mental aspect to their game, which should serve them well in the future. Kinda reminds me of that 2006 team...never say never!

That said, I am waiting for them to play more consistently by outplaying the opposition for the majority of the game, rather than the inverse we have seen over the last 4 games.
Also, without Skinner finishing, this team's record is radically different.
Are these two factors sustainable long term?
Probably not, and if Skinner can maintain anything close to this torrid pace...break out your charge card Kimmie, this one is going to hurt big time...no choice but to buy "high".

Get rid of The Beaulieu, insert Nelson. Pick up some secondary scoring and ride this puppy out.

Hamilton is an idiot. How he’s kept his job is amazing. Buffalo got absolutely SMOKED in the first and the start of the 2nd. Then the coaches actually coached and Buffalo changed their game and had sustainable pressure for the rest of the game. They were the better team in the 3rd.

7 game series ? I’d take Winnipeg but Buffalo played a great road game in a tough building. Big 2 points.
