He didn't actually put the puck in the net but he might as well have with the pass he made a game or two ago. Let me know when Thompson is making that play, or any play really. - kingcong39

wasn't botts the one that said the kids had to earn ice time with the big club?
prove it?
seems some kids in rochester are and thompson is not - homiedclown
All of that went out the window when Thompson made the team over Nylander. We all saw that Nylander was the better player in the preseason. Wasn't even very close. Mitts and Thompson were guaranteed spots. It's the only way to explain what happened. It's worked in Mitts's case. Not so much for Thompson |

If this is the case, I disagree with Botterill here.
I hated when Murray did this. He seemed to give all his acquisitions all the chances, like having Hudson Fasching start the year in Buffalo when 3 guys in Rochester were better - sbroads24
GMs don't set the lineups. They make the roster, it's up to the coach whom to play.
I think Thompson is playing so they see what they have in him. ERod was awesome last year. They know what he is, yeah, he hasn't been great this year, but neither has he been bad. He's also been in and out of the lineup and his wife just had their first kid, that's a pretty big life change and it would be silly to think it wouldn't have an effect on his game.
He's been a little like Mittelstadt. He's been sniffing around, just has yet to really cash in. |

I feel like injuries really killed this team the last couple years plugging ahl guys in and out of the lineup. This year it seems as though many people are almost rooting for an injury to bring up a couple guys. Crazy |

How can Thompson learn the nhl game from watching?
Jbotts might be making the call?

I’ve said it before, if bots can sign erod on the cheap it will be a huge win going forward. 5yrs 10M. Do it |

I’m not going to try and spell the name of the guy WGR had on that covers Rochester, but he has some less than flattering things to say about Nylander. He’s still not very good |

Same. I've been advocating for a Jarnkrok deal all along. $1.95 x 6
I think you'd get a couple of great seasons along the way. This dude absolutely can fill in at the 2C position when injuries happen. He's so versatile |

I heard that as well. I'm not pretending to be some hockey guru, but I watched all of the televised games from the preseason, including away feeds from the internet, and Nylander earned a job here imo. |

Thumbs up. A 40-50pt plug and play guy at 2M aav sounds good to me. |

With everyone healthy, I think he's just got a bit of a rotation going. Doesn't bother me at all. If they ever find a middle six line that that clicks, then you stick with it....unless Sam's involved, in which case he needs to immediately be promoted to the top line.

Easy answer is decent advanced stats, but little production. He doesn't seem to have chemistry with too many players. Erod plugs up and down the lineup a little easier.
I would have kept those two together a little longer. Felt like they had some chemistry and were capable of providing some secondary scoring, along with Sobotka. With Sam on the top line and ERod out, they are back to square one.

I think were going to see some:
Skins- eich- okposo
I actually liked 23 and 71 together.
Other then the 2 total goals on the season
Looking for sam to get a pair of points again tonight

From Ryan Stimpson’s fresh article on Dahlin
“No surprise that Rasmus Dahlin is the most involved offensively, right? What may be surprising is just how damn effective he’s been at generating offense through his passing. 9.5 primary shot assists per 60 minutes is incredible for someone playing his position. Going back to 2015 when we started collecting this data, the backs that create the most shots through primary passes and have at least 1000 minutes tracked in the data set are Erik Karlsson, John Klingberg, and Victor Hedman. Karlsson is at 8.8 per 60 minutes.” |

I think anyone we put at RW with Jack and Skinner will produce. I think they completely blew up their best looking second line way too fast.
2 goals with Jack on the ice is a pretty safe prediction every night. Where the points go is fairly irrelevant.

What the hell are the parameters used to track primary shot assists? |

Idk, but Erod is second only to Eichel among Sabre forwards for shot assists, so I'm in
