Seabs is a proud man. He'll find ways to help but no way to sugar coat that abomination of a contract. |

Yep, the core for the most part played well. They'll win a few when that happens.
Enjoying this man to man in the Dzone. How long has it been since they looked like a fire drill in their own zone?
Good win, confidence builder IMO. Forsling looked good, Gus did not look bad, ditto Ruuta, Schmaltz looks better with Dcat and AA, 4th line helpful, Crow on, JC gets his 2nd win. ........... Keep on building. - Mr Ricochet
They played three solid periods against a good (if tired) team. The trend is good! Still need some secondary scoring - Schmaltz? DeBrincat? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone? Bring up Sikura and see what he can do. It was nice not seeing Kunitz out there. Tough three games coming up. |

But he hasn’t for the better part of a year. If he can’t skate anymore he needs to stay at home. Lay heavy checks and clear the crease. He isn’t doing that. He can’t even make the stretch pass. He used to be one of the best at that. |

I've seen him miss the puck repeatedly when trying to pass it out of our zone, even when not pressured. I don't remember seeing that in the past. |

I see d-men run forwards off a direct path to the puck in every single NHL game. It’s not like Joki wasn’t skating either. Wild have all the momentum now.
And their goalie plays the puck in the restricted area with no call - bhawks2241
That’s what I thought.....but the announcers didn’t even note it.

Losing as much skill as he has is new to him. He will find ways to adjust IMO, he's too proud not to........... I was one who thought glacial Sopel was effective in his PK role. If he can find a way to help Seabs can.
More than one way to skin a cat.

It wasn’t even close. That’s the least subjective call in the NHL. Zero excuse not to make it. |

Idk he couldn’t skate last year. His hands and IQ shouldn’t deteriorate and he doesn’t play with any kind of edge. |

Yea yes and yes. I somehow trust JC to find the right combinations and his knowledge of Rockford will really be helpful in that regard.
Setting a side wins and losses I'm really looking forward to seeing how this club is playing, and who is dressed, 30 games from now.
And in the back of my mind I'm always thinking of the exact same situation PIT was in when they brought Sullivan up from the AHL in season and won a cup and he did that with a horrid defense.

If you ice the puck with your goalie pulled, can you put him back in for the faceoff? - tvetter
They Allow it but would like to see the rule enforced that the players on the ice stay on the ice without substitutions. |

what else can be said about the staleness of the hawk pp...if you want to play the middle rover with #8...how about he moves a little bit to force the pk guys to over play or move....he just stands there...useless... |

I understand but IMO it's like any other player making an adjustment, it takes time. Kinda like a 96 MPH pitcher who losses his fastball, he adjusts to get hitters out. Has to find a way to play without the skills he's had for 30 yrs. But he's never had blazing speed or elite physical skills and it could be argued his best attribute has been his IQ.
I just think of how much a man and warrior this guy has been for a decade plus. If there is a way I think Seabs will find it. ...... Yea, stay between the dots, knock people down, clear the crease, become an elite PK guy, head up for outlets, blast away on the PP, school Joki, Boqvist, Beaudin, Mitchell.

You are absolutely right. Would love to see them eliminate the trapezoid....don’t see any reason for it and it has always seemed like a very artificial and unnecessary part of the game. The stories I’ve heard said the trapezoid was introduced because someone — I believe it was brodeur — was too good at handling the puck and gave his team an unfair advantage. Don’t know how true the stories are, but would like to see the trapezoid gone

Yeah, he gave up 3 goals in the last three games (in regulation) that only allowed the team to pick up 5 of 6 points.

A monster. Watched this kid for 10 bucks in the USHL, drove to Muskegon to see the kid play as well as every time he was in Chicago... Muskegon just added Larionov's boy this last week.

Haha yeah but I don’t see Seabs clearing the crease or consistently putting guys into the boards in the d-zone. He has to clear Parise on that PP goal. Sure Parise is a warrior and a tough player but he’s small. So many hawks end up face down in the ice when they go to the net (when that actually happens lol).
He laid on top of Crow for several seconds in the first after falling over on him Bc he was inside the blue paint. Zero response from the Hawks. |

Looked good first half against Packers as well.
Play a complete game against a good team like Vikes, then you'll know they're a contender.
Btw, still like that Mack trade |

Especially considering where that #1 pick SHOULD be. That is to say lower in the order than the Raiders were anticipating. It is suspected the raiders chose the Bears in their trade of Mack because they thought the Bears would suck and thus they'd get a higher pick. Jokes on you Gruden.
Tonight, STILL TOO early to warm up the fat lady, but so far so good. #RememberGreenBay |
