It does, but I think JB has the patience and discipline to use that pick wisely, and not squander it at the deadline. I don't see him renting....at least not at that cost. - Lunaion
I pointed out in a previous blog that it doesn’t need to be a “rental” though.
The trade with McDonagh and JT Miller to Tampa
The Brassard trade
Both trades netted cup contending teams players who will be on those teams for a minimum of 2-3 years
Ironic part is now would be the time for an Evander Kane type trade |

If it's a deadline hockey trade for a guy with term, that's completely different. Those deals aren't frequent though.
A Kane-like deal for an expiring contract? I don't see it.

I think he meant making a trade to acquire that kind of player |

Oh, ya, maybe he did mean the initial Kane trade. That would work.

I'd trade Ullmark for the right return
pretty sure Hutton can hold his own for 65 games a year |

They have solid goaltending at $3.5M a year. Why make a change? |

You are ridiculous
Sam has 2 goals and is a complete p*shy
Why do you keep defending him randomly?
He is not putting up 60 points like you expected
He didn't sign a 8 x 8 deal
He will ride eichels coattails and you will keep bragging about how great he is.
Makes no sense
Glad 23 has shown some determination and emotion lately. Hardly anything to keep bringing up.

Really? I’m not a huge Hutton fan (he’s an average starter, above avg backup)
But I wanna see Ullmark more. Also UPL might be something in 2 years.
I’d be going for a 2/3 D man.

We might have the most cost effective tandem in the NHL right now. Plus we'd be a Hutton injury away from Adam Wilcox as the starter. That's a pass from me |

I think UPL could be the truth baby ruth but he may be leaned upon for "window #2" if that makes sense.
Above average goaltending would take the pressure off the team as a whole. Doesn't have to a massive trade for some guy carrying a 7 mil cap hit. An Andersen like trade would do. |

Goaltending is the last position to worry about addressing via a trade with this team. |

Flames offer Giordano and Bennett for Risto, Girgens and Ullmark, you would turn that down?
If Hutton went down, Jonas Johansson would probably get the call up |

dude c'mon, Reinhart's solid but you picked this bar just to make him look better.
Larkin, Pastrnak, Kapanen, Tuch before his nasty injury and lets face it, if he were playing, Willy Nylander. These are all first round picks. Just include them |

Oh hell yeah I'm turning that down.
A 35 year old d man making $7m a year, and a 4th line grinder?
That's a no for me |
