Ullmark played lights out except for the Larkin goal. Thompson was impressive everywhere - his best game yet. Bogo and Okposo look slow to me. Jack needs to shoot instead of looking for the perfect pass when he is high in the slot. Samson with a beauty during the shootout. Made up for his bonehead giveaway in O/T. Elie played a decent,high-energy game. If we want more speed, then Larsson sits and Girgs comes back in. The 4th line of Girgs/Elie and EROD would be fast.

Larsson has been really good this year. Consistent and effective. Agree with Lunion. Not everyone on a winning team lights up the score sheet. That's not how it works.

Also, nice to finally see some of the upside that Tage Thompson has, that the coaches must have seen in practices.

Bogo does look like those hip surgeries have had some effect on slowing down his lateral movement a bit, he hasn't been bad except for the cringe worthy blunders occasionally but hopefully he's still finding his legs.

I think Wilson will add a lot to that line when he returns...

Watched the game last night. The support off the puck makes this buffalo squad really dangerous. There is enough skill and doped to burn teams off any mistake. Fun to watch.

My takeaway from last night is that being fast (and ideally skilled) is the fastest way to get good in this league. Everyone thought Vegas was going to stink last year and the same for the Red Wings this year.

That said.....

- At times Okposo was completely overwhelmed last night. There were several shifts where play went back and forth in the neutral zone and he looked plain awful when he has to stop and start again. He is ok once he gets going and on the PP but other times we get a look at what the future is going to be like.
- I'll take Elie all day long over Gus. His speed and tenacity is impressive.
- While guys like Pommer and Bogo have enjoyed a bit of a rebirth we are going to be much better when we bring in new younger guys in the next year or so. Bogo looks worlds better this year but he makes one or two major mistakes a game that they can't always overcome.

Okposo needs to sit out for a few games ... the Sabres have him under contract for sooooo long and unfortunately no other team will want him at his salary
