Let's just say he would not be warmly welcome at the proposed Buzzgate get together. |

It's flippin ridiculous they make us wait until tomorrow for a presser. - Doctor DOOM
They already put out a statement. They aren't going to say much else we don't already know. |

So if Quenneville doesn't want to be the Flyers coach, or doesn't want to be a coach at all and just relax for a while, that is on the Flyers? Just so we're clear here. - jmatchett383
Its on the players. They don't need a coach |

I would like Quenneville.
But if they do wait until the offseason to look there are guys I had interest in. Luke Richardson did a good job in the Ottawa farm system.
But I think more of my interest is in the roster as i think you could see a guy like Voracek moved. - J35Bacher

I have no idea how things will eventually shake out, but at least it’s interesting again.
They badly needed to shake things up, this team was heading straight for a last place finish in the Metro. Hopefully the new GM acquires a goalie and we’ll soon have seen the last of Pickard. - BiggE
"This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Hextall, and will soon see the end of the coaches."

The one interesting thing.
If Varsity is coach for any more home losses.
Those “fire Hakstol” chants will be loud. - flyer_nutter
Pretty sure Hakstol can feel safe by throwing up a for sale sign on his front lawn today in south jersey. |

what a time to be alive that was - -davies-
Indeed. M4 playing with his and Lappy's kids. Seeing Pronger take on the Metro AND the dumb Philly press at the time. |

I know.
But he's been away so long. It's hard not to find someone that doesn't have a connection somewhere. Someone has ties somehow.
If they move on i just want someone who can get this team over the hump and start getting guys they are developing in the AHL on the roster.
One place I haven't agreed with his roles that they do have depth in. 4th line roles. How can you not be getting guys like Aube-Kubel and Bardreau. |

He should really just save face and resign. The new GM is going to axe him first thing. |

Hextall's future vision was fantastic and he made great moves to align with it. His unwillingness or lack of value placed in the present is what did him in.
Hes leaving behind a foundation much better than what he walked into. Though there are some critical issues he either never fixed or let get a whole lot worse.
Beyond coaching: Goaltending, Special teams, lack of a 3C and proper leadership on the blue line is holding this team back. Draft picks and Prospects cant be relied on to fix all of it. |

They should do it publicly at center ice just before puck drop of tomorrow night’s game |

I just read what you wrote Bill. Pretty much everything you wrote I completely agree with. And said nearly all of that last night to a specific poster (obviously not as well thought out and grammatically correct), which he naturally tried to argue.
But long story short, there is not one singular issue. What a mess. |

It does suck but who knows. Maybe they’re working the phones hard today for replacement candidates for both GM and coaching. If they get either today/tonight you can also announce that tomorrow |

Just a prediction.
You see Homer as an interim GM for the rest of the year, and a new coach sooner than that.
Dont think they rush out to sign a GM before tomorrow . |
|
|
|
Thing with Q is he may not want to come. He has a chance to go to St Louis, or just sit on his ass through the holidays.
I could see it not being him. You cant force a guy to coach your organization. - flyer_nutter
Go to St Louis? Not a chance. Baba Roobey, Coach face punch locked up that job by holding Laine to 5 goals over the weekend. |

The only thing that worries about Homer being internim GM is a Simmonds resigning. |

I'm still curious what the "philosophical differences " were?
Hextall's one strength was the draft. Does management not feel that way? There has to be a happy medium of development and pulling the trigger on a big trade. - Pelle31Forever
If this begins a new era of July 1 splashes and trading kids/picks for vets, then seriously F this team. |
