So if Quenneville doesn't want to be the Flyers coach, or doesn't want to be a coach at all and just relax for a while, that is on the Flyers? Just so we're clear here. - jmatchett383
If the Flyers offer him the job and he turns it down, then nothing else they can do about that. |

They already put out a statement. They aren't going to say much else we don't already know. - hereticpride
Unless they hope to have someone tomorrow to be in place like they know who it is and they have accepted? |

I dunno..I take Stamkos and Barkov well before Coots.
I would say to me Coots is 100% a top 20 center. Hell if you are honest about your list you have 12 players listed with Stamkos not being one of them. - opeth_pa
Stamkos isn't even the 1C on his own team. Point is. |

If this begins a new era of July 1 splashes and trading kids/picks for vets, then seriously F this team. - Tomahawk
Thats obviously the big fear. I do think one thing you will see is kids thrown into the fire a bit more.
Im holding out realistic hope for Pryor to be moved into the GM role and Q as HC. Do that, and I'll be happy. |

I have no idea how things will eventually shake out, but at least it’s interesting again.
They badly needed to shake things up, this team was heading straight for a last place finish in the Metro. Hopefully the new GM acquires a goalie and we’ll soon have seen the last of Pickard. - BiggE
Didn't pay $35 million to JVR to finish last in the Metro
I'd be stunned if they were done. If it's true that Dave Scott wanted some things to change with the NHL product, they almost can't be done |

What GM takes the job when management hires their own new coaching staff and saddles him with that. The new GM should be the one to fire Hak and hire a replacement. Then you have him with his own guy and no disconnect between GM and HC. - bodiva88
I want the coach gone now. they can same an interim coach in the meantime. if the theory of hextall being fired because of Hakstol, then you need to fire Hakstol too. |

-I can already feel the hatred but trading Brayden Schenn for two firsts and Lehtera. Lehtera is a serious anchor. Fast forward to a year later, he signs JvR to a bigger deal, he’s older and in my experience Schenn is better offensively, can play all three positions and more physical. - SuperSchennBros
So Schenn is better than having JVR + Frost + Farabee? |

“Ron Hextall controlled everything in this organization from what the players ate to even having the carnival moved to the early months so it wasn’t a distraction earlier on”. - flyer_nutter
Holding the carnival right around the trade deadline was terrible. I hope they don't go back to that. |

I think a move for a goalie is probably happening.
Only realistic trade options I see are Crawford or Dell.

I can see them pulling back on the conservative way that Hextall managed the roster, but I can't see them cutting deals like a 1st, 2nd, 3rd round pick and a prospect for 12 games of Adam Oates or anything like that. I think the folly of that thinking has been fully exposed (at least, I hope it has).
That said, I can see some things accelerating with the roster. Like, possibly a quicker decision on Wayne Simmonds. |

Per Frank Seravalli Twitter
“#Flyers fans have been critical of the so-called "faceless corporate overlord" running team since Ed Snider's passing. It's my understanding that Comcast Spectacor CEO Dave Scott played a central role in Hextall's ouster, wasn't just rubber stamping a Holmgren decision” - arichardson22
i believe that. and that's fine. |
